Chipotle... Anyone eat here? I've been there once and for fast food, it was really good.

I knew about this IPO and wanted to get in, but totally forgot about it and am currently kicking myself!

what?

It says it's up 100%? What was teh IPOs offer price? $44 or $22?

Chipotle is a fad. The ones I see in Atlanta are rarely crowded and just take up lot of retail restaurant space. If Atlanta is any indication of nationwide, Chipotle will be in world of hurt in couple of years like Krispy Kreme and Boston Market. In Atlanta, I know both Moe's and Willy's do better as a chain.

But one thing good about Chipotle's successful IPO today. It shows there's demand for restaurant stocks. Given the large opening day jump even with the bump in IPO offer range means more companies will consider spinoffs.

though i have to say there really is no good mexican in this area

and chipotle is ok if you have no decent mexican / texmex places in the area. but burritos can get much better.

Chipotle should be profitable, what other store gets away with charging $5 for a pound of rice and beans ?
