Chipotle: buy burrito this Sunday or Monday, get one free on Tuesday

Just had the barbacoa burrito w/ guac. Mmmmmmm. And the whole deal worked too (in Bethesda)! Now I just have to strategically do some crop-dusting around my coworkers.

Clarifications:

McDonald's did not sell Chipotle. There was speculation that McDonald's would sell its partner brands (Chipotle, Donatos Pizza, Boston Market, etc.), but that has not yet happened.

McDonald's did not create Chipotle. Chipotle was created and developed by someone in the Denver, Colorado area and McDonald's bought the concept from them about 3-5 years ago.

Considering many of the comments made here I have no doubt as to why McDonald's stock has dropped so much over the last year. Some is a result of their actual business problems (declining sales, increasing debt, price wars, etc.), and some is the result of nobody knowing anything that is accurate.

And chizow said that Mexican McDonald's rocks.

Yes, in reference to Chipotle, to which I was pointing out that there already ARE McDonald's in Mexico; hence calling Chipotle "Mexican McDonalds" is a misnomer. Next time engage brain before rolling eyes.
Engage brain? I read it chizow's post and didn't see him explictly reference Chipotle. Maybe he's in Mexico City and saying that Mexican McDonald's rock. I've only been to the McD in the Mexico City Airport and liked their menu slant. Mmmmmm. . . McPapas. . .

Saying that they have McDonald's in Mexico when 1) McDonald's is known to be a worldwide chain, and 2) when reading his post literally already implies it is not only irrelevant, but pretty brainless. Once again:

(And quasi-bump cause I like Chipotle.)

BUUUUURP! Got one today at lunch. Will get the free one tomorrow. Sure hope I do not get confused and send their tax form to the real IRS instead of my real tax form! Do you get good burritos in federal prison??

just got a burrito from the one off Harbor Blvd in Costa Mesa... the fool working the register was SHADY! he didn't give me my receipt - i had to ask for it, and he also didn't give or offer me the free burrito form! whatta punk... i even saw the display for the free burrito but there were 0 copies of the form left. do i need that form to get the free burrito? can i go to a different chipotle to get the free one or do i have to go back to the same store? i really don't wanna go back there again if i don't have to.

LoL, omfg, L00PY and Feral Kid, talk about taking a simple (and obviously more obscure than I thought) reference out of context. The people in this thread with more than 2 brain cells not engaged in mortal combat figured it out quickly. McDonalds owns Chipotles. Simple as that. Its an urbanized Yuppie wrap house run by McDonalds. They serve Mexican-style burritos. Yuppies such as myself refer to it as Mexican McDonalds. There's no apostrophe in there, so stop trying to read into it more than what I wrote. McDonalds is synonymous with fast food. Substitute "fast food" with "McDonalds" in my original phrase and the result is as harmless as my original comment before it was blown out of proportion by the hyper-sensitive, anally-retentive semantics police. 😛

Chiz

Oh yah, free taco for amnesiac for being the first to pick up on the reference.😎 Looks like it didn't prevent the wedgy convention though.

Don't worry, there's always people who insist on nitpicking other people's threads. Something to do with mommy not giving them enough attention growing up. 😛

BTW, Chiz, it's "amnesiac" (no caps) and I'll PM you later with the info for sending me that taco. 😛

maybe they were not breastfed?

Nah, standard blame would be toilet trained too early / too late.

And for the people taking burritos seriously, pthhhbbbt.

PS Even mentioning Mcdonalds in this thread was stupid.

Why? Did you not notice the post saying that Chipotle is owned by McDonalds?

And still it really has nothing to do with the deal... To be honest with you calling it "Mexican McDonalds" isn't quite justified, and saying that McDonalds is synonomous with fast food (in terms of swapping one word for the other) isn't justified at all either. That would be like saying that all cars should be called Ford because Ford was the premiere car company.

Sorry if it upsets you so much that I don't think that McDonalds is worth mentioning. The thought of the name makes me wanna loose my appetite for these burritos.

Haha yea I got one earlier today, man I love that place. Thanks for posting this deal! Form is kind of silly, but oh well its worth $5.71!!!!

BTW: who cares if its a lot of rice the rice is really good.

Im gonna post a better deal ... eat burritos and get up to $50.00.. look for the new post right about now..

Their website is uber-cool, and what's really cool about it is that it doesn't take forever to load. Lot's of neat stuff on there.

whoever drew that deal up is an effin' genius.

Good food too.

Actually it'd be more like calling all photocopies "Xeroxes", all facial tissues "Kleenexes", or all bandages "Band-Aids".

Out of curiosity, is there a larger fast food chain than McDonalds?

Regardless of who owns them, they seem to have their own (corporate) culture and are worthy of another quasi-bump.

I don't think so... McDonald's management uses the catch phrase "30,000 Stores worldwide" in their stockholder meetings/conference calls. I think 30,000 would be tough to beat.
