Business Opportunities
Relation with the US
History
Personal Experiences in China or Japan
...and whatever else you can think of

Culture - China...have you ever seen some of the Japanese stuff?
Language - China, mandarin is way more valuable than japanese
Food - fast cheap food: china, SUSHI: Japan
Landscape - China
Business Opportunities - China...Japanese Business opportunity is an oxymoron
Relation with the US - Japan
History - China, Japanese history is tainted with WW2 and rapings
Personal Experiences in China or Japan - never been, but Japanese people are...sorta messed up
...and whatever else you can think of

Culture - Japanese hands down? Japan may be a bit on the crazy side, but that's what makes it so good. Chinese doesn't have much of a culture, besides copying and being overly practical. That said, I'm chinese myself.
Language - Given that Japanese came from Chinese, I'd say Chinese.
Food - Each have their ups and downs. I think chinese would still win given that they have A LOT more kinds of food.
Landscape - China
Business Opportunities - Depends on the business obviously. High tech and research, japan. Mass manufacturing of cheap parts, China.
Relation with the US - This should be obvious, Japan.
History - Can't say I know enough about both to make a good judgement, but China definitely has more history, and more influential history at that.
Personal Experiences in China or Japan..

Japan. It's so nice and CLEAN, and the people are hella nice! As soon as I get some dollars I wanna go there. Maybe when I get leave when I head over to Afghanistan.

They both suck. Personally, I think I'd rather live in Sweden.

i dunno... they have hot women, but terrible food.....

It's a moot point anyway. It's not as though the OP is going to suddenly become Japanese or Chinese. It's a stupid fvcking question.

China has no culture? w..t..f.. do you know anything about China other than what you see on TV and what mommy tells you?

Isn't this really subjective? Every person has their own opinion and may even enjoy both.

I'm a bit disappointed considering you name is mentat, yet it seems you didn't think enough before posting this thread 😉

Chinese > Japanese on every single one

language part, only the written part borrowed from china, spoken Japanese is unique and not related to any other language.

All in all this is a pointless post. There are soo many factors to take into consideration. Best for who? And how exactly do you define whose history/culture is better? Completely subjective

I don't know much about TV, but a lot of my understanding of chinese culture does come from what mommy tells me, when you consider the fact that I'm chinese.. dipshit. Not to mention I only grew up with a bunch of chinese people, many whom just immigrated from china, including my stepdad.
So what the fvck do you know about chinese culture? Please enlighten me about how diverse and interesting their culture is.

He's talking about culture, as in the 5000 years China had to develop a culture.

I agree with you about China not CURRENTLY having a very exciting culture, but you and Mo0o are talking about different things.

There are two different ways to talk about culture: modern-day culture and tradition.

i suppose so. but China's modern culture is also vamping up as the government becomes more liberal. Chinese cinema and literature are all blooming as western investors are more willing to pour money into projects.

Japs have my respect for what they've accomplished since WWII. I'm more familiar with the Japanese as well so they get my pick.

My main problem with China is their government. It sounds oppressive.

Language, food, culture? I have no idea.
I think I'd be happier living in Japan.

That may be true, but back to the topic at hand: compared to Japanese crazies, Chinese modern-day culture can't hold a candle.
