China prefers Trump to be re-elected

China prefers whatever makes America weaker, and leaders with few principles and even less brains is exactly that. In this case it's someone who only thinks about himself, is open to bribery, and has a penchant for turning his back on allies with a smile. Precisely the kind of fake president that can make way for China's expansion and the future invasion of Taiwan.

Remember Trump's first visit to China after doing China a solid by declining the TPP? Xi could tell Trump has no understanding of history or politics, had Trump agreeing with his views inside of 10 minutes in one case. The Chinese were flabbergasted by this buffoon's stupidity, of course they want to keep working with him. Just like MBS is no hurry to lose Jared.

Trump only signed it because it had a veto proof majority. He never would have pushed the issue on his own because he doesn’t give a shit.

So yes, this is another case of showing how and why China prefers Trump. He’s easy to manipulate, is a bad negotiator, and will willingly trade away core issues for China in a way other presidents wouldn’t.
Except in the case of this bill, he was manipulated into signing a bill that China would venomously oppose. What is left to trade away given that Trump’s predecessors already sold our economic soul to China.

You have a strange definition of manipulated.

There's lots to trade away. For example while Trump was forced to sign this bill if he actually gave a shit about human rights he could take all sorts of executive actions to make their life more difficult. He's much more likely to sign some agreement where the US agrees to stay out of their internal affairs than any of his potential replacements. There's also Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, etc. China would love for them to all come under their influence and I'm sure Trump would happily sell them all down the river.

As far as economics go, don't be ridiculous. While China has some bad trade practices overall trade with them has been enormously beneficial to the US. That's why we do it, after all.

Back to the original point though, China likes Trump right where he is because again he's easy to manipulate. Also, he only cares about himself so he will gladly trade away long term US interests for his own short term gain. He's an ideal partner for China to negotiate against.

If that's true, why is there no deal? They should have been able to manipulate him into one at this point, I figure. Or maybe it's not true at all but rather a backhanded attack on Trump.

Because waiting is to China’s incredibly obvious advantage as Trump needs a deal far more than they do? Trump is already frantic about the issue and is continually declaring a deal is imminent while China sits back and laughs at him. Imagine how desperate he will be in say, August of 2020. They know they can win any time they want but the longer they wait the more they win.

And a trade deal is just the start. After that’s concluded they can move on to those other topics that China cares about a lot and Trump doesn’t. If Trump gets another four year term you will likely see China realize a number of its long term ambitions at shockingly low cost.

Yup, with Trump they can trade something for the US to ignore HK. Someone with principles they won't be able to sway on moral issues.

Which addresses the point not at all. If they can just buy Trump, as claimed in he OP, why haven't they? And if they intend to deal with him at all, why dis him like that? Don't you recognize anti-Trump propaganda when it's so obvious?
