If you have enough to spare for a console or handheld that's a good choice too, since other people with less to spare can then buy the games for it. The consoles are loaned out to kids, so over time one GameCube will be used for hundreds or thousands of hours by many kids.

There isn't a bad choice in your shopping, the consoles, games, toys and books will all make some kids happy :)

I'm afraid we're settling in to 1-2 new donations a day, so I might not be buying my next DS Lite to match before Thanksgiving :(

But  and much thanks to Beller0ph1 today, for pushing us over $5,000 ! by making a very generous donation of a DS Lite Onyx Black and New Super Mario Brothers DS for Children's Hospital in Wauwatosa, WI

Just 1 more person to donate $25+ for Ameesh's matching, and 2 more people for me to get another DS Lite.

Evadman is matching dollar-for-dollar (including the matching from me and Ameesh) and could explode into a shopping frenzy at any moment! ;)

If someone donates another 360, I will match another 360 to the hospital of their choice. That would put us over 6000. I'll do that if somoene donates 'till friday. If no one gets one by that point I will regular match to my limit.

I Spy Little Animals (I Spy) - Jean Marzollo
$6.99

Ordered for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin
We already donate lots of $$ to the hospital but I figured I could crack the coffers open a little more. Sadly my 2 kids are all to familiar with the hospital and the stays we've had they have read the I Spy series dozens of times.

great cause, great hospitals

Edit: Now if I could deduct that $6.99 from the several thousand I still owe them...

ya know... I just read through this thread some more and nearly got teary-eyed (ok... I did get teary-eyed)
Honestly, it is stuff like this that make me love this time of the year. People helping other people. Not friends or relatives or even coworkers. But people that they will never meet at all. Blindly sharing with those that need something extra in their life during a hard time. And some of the amount of donations is just CRAZY. You guys have some seriously big hearts.

Have to been to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin numerous times now over my childrens' lives (nothing serious in the grand scheme of things mind you, just stupid little complications here and there) I can tell you nothing in more depressing, yet uplifting. Sick kids everywhere, from infants to old many of them having their childhood or even lives ripped away from them for no reason. Yet, whats amazing is, no matter how many scars they have, no matter how many bandages or wires and probes, they are almost always smiling. Kids are kids.

On behalf of a parent that has likely benefited from charity drives like this I have to say thank you.
