Wow.. you guys that are matching the donations are either incredibly generous, have a lot of money, or both.

I'd contribute if I could.

I can't speak for Ameesh or AgaBoogaBoo but it's been a decade since college for me and I'm a lead software developer, so I'm doing OK.

This and Northwest Harvest (Washington state food bank supplier) are the only charities I'm giving to this year so I'm not being that generous.

Bill Gates gives more every few seconds than I'll donate in my lifetime so it's all relative -- do what you can, when you can.

we all can do what's in our means; giving $5 or $500 is the same in my book. either way someone else less fortunate is going to be better off then they were. in this case a sick child will be able to play some video games to keep his mind off his illness. it really is the thought that counts

Hi SuperNaruto, thanks again for your earlier donation!

I don't need money for the DS Lite, it's the matching I'm doing to other people's donations. Once 3 more people make a $25+ Amazon donation my own matching will be at $260 and I can order a second DS Lite for $129.xx.

Ameesh has planned something even bigger for using his matching money, what could it be???

 for the second donation

If life were DBZ then SuperNaruto's hair just turned blonde and Frieza's looking worried :)

One more donation and we reach $2,000+!

I will match all donations over $2000 on a 1 to 1 basis up to $4000. ($2000 from me max)

In other words if this: Tote Board (alphabetical by username) = $1,456.31 + $490 = $,1946.31:
turns into this:Tote Board (alphabetical by username) = $1,456.31 + $490 + more = $,4000.00:

I will add $2k to turn it into 6k.

Evadman will match all donations (including matching from me and Ameesh!) after we reach $2,000. So after the next donation, then for example:

You donate $29.99, + $10 me +$25 Ameesh + $29.99 Evadman = $94.98 donated !!

Well if you want to explain it like that, I will actually match Ameesh's and your matching donations as well. So it would be:

You donate $29.99, + $10 DaveSimmons +$25 Ameesh + $64.99 Evadman = $129.98 donated

Excellent! To anyone thinking of donating this means your gift is at least doubled, and tripled for smaller gifts. For example:

You donate $29.99, + $10 me +$25 Ameesh + $64.99 Evadman = $129.98 donated !!

So that the person making the last $25+ donation below $2,000 doesn't feel left out, I'll match an extra $20 with them ($30 instead of $10), which means they'll also be the one to get me to buy another DS Lite.

Edited for bad late night math :)

If someone here was thinking about making a really big donation of $100, not only would I, Ameesh and Evadman match you $170 -but- if you do it by 11:59 PST tomorrow (11-16) you could get a $20 cert back from Amazon for a purchase in December or January:

---
"Spend $100 or more in our Toys & Games Store on toys, games, kid's bikes, or kid's sporting goods offered by Amazon.com in a single order and get $20 off a future purchase at Amazon.com. A promotional code in the value of $20 will be sent to you by December 1, 2006 and is good for 60 days from issue date. This offer does not include video games, video games consoles, DVDs, books or baby products. This offer applies only to single orders of $100 or more consisting of toys & games products offered by Amazon.com and does not apply to products sold on our site by third-party merchants or through third-party areas such as Amazon.com Marketplace, Auctions, or zShops. "
---

You spend $100 now, get $20 back later for some other Amazon purchase, and a total of $270 goes to Child's Play.

To get this, pick board games like Guess Who, Clue, Candyland, etc. from the wish list of a hospital and make sure the item description says it's part of the promotion.
