Chieftec Matrix Carbon Black and Silver Case with Window, $19.97 +S/H

Looks much better than the purple!! I'd get it if I weren't planning on my next case to be a HTPC case.

DAGNABBIT !!! I jumped on the purple one last night and I'd much rather have this one. I really prefer the nice-looking two-toned ones to the solid color. Oh well. Still a great case regardless and it will just sit on the floor, mostly out-of-sight, anyway. I think I actually prefer a solid side panel over the acrylic. I guess I'm down with plum-wine-purple.

Sweet deal. I'm slowly buying all the parts for my "next-gen" SLI rig, and I was gonna wait for the Antec P180 and dish out 170 for that. I know this probably doesn't compare to the Antec P-Series, but I know a good deal when I see one. Shipping for me came out to $20.45 (So. Cal... ouch) and everything totaled out to $40.42. That's definitely money that can be well spent on my second GPU. 😉

Thanks, ordered 2 @ $59.68 ($39.94+3.78 tax + $15.96 UPS ground), saved about $ 140. Missed the silver and blue (no clear sides) that were on sale . No rebates to deal with too.

Got one of these (green and silver) a few months ago for $19.99 + tax at a B&M (Orland Park, IL). Case is nicely built but heavy.

Review - Chieftec Matrix

Review #2

I'm in illinois, infact, about 10 minutes from their warehouse (I'm in Naperville) and it costs 12.71 to ship it.

That's rediculous, UPS Zone 0 shipping is like 7 bucks for up to 25 pounds, and since thing got no PSU, it aint no 25 pounds. Ganna see if I can pick it up.

These are the same Chenming cases as sold by Antec as the 8xx, 10xx family. They are some of the best built cases ever made; use 1.0mm steel, very nice construction quality with lots of airflow due to a open front end behind the bezel. Only real downsides are that they use old school 80mm fans which are noiser than the modern 120's. Also, the hard drives mount solidly into the cage which allows seek noise to travel through the case - more modern cases use rubber grommets to mount the drive.

Overall though, this is a real deal at this price, my opinion of course😀

Even tho they use 80mm fans, I have every space occupied, and it's nearly silent. This is a REALLY great case. I already had one that I had bought 1.5 years ago, bought a silver, then a purple, and now the black. I'm going to give all my computers new homes. 🙂

this is same as my antec sx1030 chassis (without front usb/firewire ports), the one i bought 5 yrs ago. my case which came with case fans and power supply and makes hell a lot of noise. make sure you use low db fans.
nice case and quite heavy.
