We need a Chicago south/southwest suburbs meet. I'm thinking Napersville or Downers Grove. Maybe at the Fry's or somewhere close and better like the DG Hooters(which is only a mile or two from Fry's).

I'd love to meet a bunch of fellow ATOT-er's but North burbs is just too far.

How about Dreams Sports Bar in Lockport?

I'd probably be up for that ....
I live a lot closer to Fry's than I do Glenview ...

I'd be down for it, but not everyone is because of travel time, travel method (to park or not to park), costs, etc. Look at my Frappr map in the OP and pick an area somewhat equally central to everyone, see where you land 😉

screw the burbs...why not just meet in Chicago?! far more stuff to do....and honies to ignore.

For me personally, it's because it's a 45+ minute drive to the west end of O'Haire, then more if I want to go east of there ... Then when I get there ... most places do not have parking lots, I have to look for a parking garage and pay money, or park on the street where my car can barely fit in a space because it's a full size car.

Or I have to drive to the train station and then wait and go at a certain time...
For me, logistically, it's a PITA to get to the city.

I'll be at the Yardhouse next Friday on the 26th

If someone plans to organize something in the western suburbs ... I'll make it there too ...

But if it's in the city limits .... I dunno ... I really don't like going down that way .. I'd rather go to Rockford 🙂

that makes sense. it's tough for me to get out of the city for the same reason (not having a car that I use/or am aware of exactly where I left it...🙂 )

as for Rockford...ughh. been there once; that's enough 😉

Any idea where to park in Glenview?

This place is in like an outdoor mall of sorts, there is plenty of parking around the place and also a free garage nearby in the mall lot.

Just an FYI for everybody, we have a YardHouse here in Denver (Lakewood) and it is a phonominal place.

1) I don't know how busy the one in Glenview is, but me and a buddy just went this last Friday night and waited for an hour to be seated. Friday and Saturday nights are always like that there, so a reservation would probably be good.

2) They're food is awesome, I recommend the "Jerk Chicken with Shrimp Stack" if you like Jerk on your chicken and Jack on your shrimp enchilada. The burgers are awesome as well if your down for something more simple. You pretty much can't go wrong with their food at all.

3) The beer is phenominal. Not only do they have over 100, with some locations having more then 300 beers on tap (mostly the Cali or Florida locations). Some of the beers they have, at least here - you simply can't find anywhere else. The "Barman Pilsner" for instance, is a rare beer indeed.

4) Clean lines. Also, even if they have a beer that you like but drink a lot you might want to drink it here too. Speaking again only of my location, their lines are always clean and their beer always fresh. I have a friend that used to work for Budweiser (still works there but doing something else) cleaning keg lines for bars and he would tell me how horribly bad some bars and/or restaraunts keep there lines. Not so with the yardhouse. And there beer is always fresh, so you might go to an old Chicago and get a more obscure beer, and because very few people drink it - the beer keg sits for weeks, and the beer is nasty when you order it. Not so with the yardhouse, if they don't sell it they dispose of it and tap a new keg.

Seriously, I can't say enough good things about this place - so thought I'd mention it. Might not be the same with other locations, but I have to drive 20-30 minutes and wait in line for the location here and its always worth it.

Recommended Beers - Barman or Pilsner Urquell for pilsners. If you like wheat beer, but something not as strong - try the Alagash White - one of my favorite beers of all time.

The Alagash White is not only one of my favorites but it's one of the highest rated Belgian Whites on beer advocate.. it's either that or their Tripel, can never remember, both are outstanding if you're a white ale fan.

If only they had Arrogant Bastard on tap :\

I am Also agreeing that Alagash White is good. the Tripel is awesome, and I have a bottle of the Alagash Four at home. Haven't tried it yet, but I have VERY high expectations.

They do at the one here, too hoppy for me

Lucky, to each their own 🙂

We had a running joke that everytime my friends and I would go to a place that had it on top, our first words after the first sip would always have to be 'my, that's arrogant.' It's one of those 'not funny unless you're there' type things but it gets us rolling every time.

I can probably make it. Most of my drinking buddies are in London this weekend and I have nothing better to do. 😀

Two options:

1) Get smashed and make a crazed, drug-filled trip back to Rockford
2) Get smashed and sleep in an alley
That's why I'd rather have these things *in* Chicago, where I can get a cab home. I'm pretty much resigned to the alley at this point.

Holy crap, sm8000 you live 5 blocks from me. I smell carpool opportunity.

Sorry Kyteland, but I work five minutes from The Yardhouse, so I'm just going to wait for everyone there. You can get a ride back with me though. And a combination of Metra and Pace Bus will get you there.

Take Elston north, merge with Milwaukee, turn right on Waukegan, take that all the way to E Lake Ave, left there then right on Patriot Blvd. Town Center comes up on your left 🙂

Same route I take to work, unless the Edens looks good when I pass over it.
