Checkers manager pwned on Undercover Boss

You gotta know who to brown nose.

Do you want to waste your time buttering up some middle management peon? I didn't think so.

Well if you're a small-ass peon working in a national chain, chances are you'll never meet the CEO. This guy probably has a regional manager, or would this be a franchisee?

I guess I need to get my facts straight.

Store manager was/is undergoing "retraining" to company standards as mentioned in the end to that show. He had a point and probably felt frustrated on how to deal with unruly employees. At least he wasn't fired on the spot. 🙁

Well yea, you need to get your facts straight.

You need to make sure you are sending nude pics of your wife or girlfriend to the right person to get that raise.

Send the pics to the wrong person you are not going to get the raise, and you don't want that to happen do we?

Wow, that just sounds like a terrible idea.

Hi, my name is Peggy. :sneaky:

It would really suck to get fired on national TV. I'm sure they would have fired him if he wasn't the subject of the show, but because he was they'll give him another chance.

1st: The guy was in disguise.
2nd: Not everyone does what I do. I was in the Navy and you are REQUIRED to know your chain of command all the way up to the president.

When I got out and went to Hynix I tried to learn as many names and titles as I could. The top people were back in Korea and for some reason the management wasnt too keen on giving out everybodies full name and exact job title. Weird. But I knew everyone up to the chief of manufacturing.
When Hynix died I immediately went looking for a new job. Adecco called me and said Tektronix in Beaverton needed people. Before I even did my interview I researched as many people as I could and I memorized one thing the president had done in the past couple years. Repeated it during the interview when the manager asked me what I knew about the company.
That along with my technical skills had him calling Adecco IMMEDIATELY after the interview and they called me by the time I had turned in my badge and walked to the car. I had a job.

It pays to know names, if not faces, and it usually helps to impress.

Heck, I don't even know ANY names of my quabillion South American cousins. 😵

I guess I wouldn't have lasted a day in the military unless you'd find some use for me by putting me next to a nuclear reactor to take hourly temperature readings.:'(

That is a lot of sucking up to do.

That's the nice thing about working for a small company... I'm a direct report to the VP of the company. He only reports to the owner.

The downside to that is that I occasionally get pulled into some really weird customer meetings. If you think that your managers make some odd requests... Oy.
