<< I know what you're saying - it does seem weird. But look at the trunk. On a regular Accord the trunk line comes straight down the top of the rear quarter panels. Why would they create a completely different trunk setup, hack up the sides of the trunk, and fit on something that'd likely be very flimsy, just to glue this rear end into place? Granted - this is possible, but I just don't see why anyone would go through such lengths just to mod their trunk just to get that rear bodywork in place. Do you have the emails to any of the people who took them pics? I'm just curious to know if they saw it in person. I really can't see why anyone would hack the trunk up for no reason >>
I think you are looking for a sensible explanation for what is obviously a ridiculous idea. The gullwing doors on the Integra sedan I linked are also pretty senseless, as is the bizarre Lincoln/Ford lowered pickup someone linked earlier. I think the distinctiveness of this is the whole point, and common sense and utility have no application here. I think this is almost certainly real, as strange as it seems.
