In some areas, police dogs are fitted with vests of their own.

And in all cases, they're considered officers. You kill one, you're a copkiller, and

you would likely gain about 3 or 4 pounds almost instantly, assuming the bullets didn't pass through your body.

If I was on phencyclidine, the dog would have a broken neck before it hit the ground. 😛

I'm not promoting the indiscriminate killing of law enforcement personnel. I'm just saying that dogs are useless against people that know how to deal with them. If I ever was in a situation that would involve a firefight, I sure as hell wouldn't be working alone. I believe in tossable explosives myself. That dog would be dead before it got out of the car. 😛

I tend to try and avoid conflict with LE anyways. But when the topic comes up, it brings out militant thoughts.

Tell me how exactly one deals with an 80lb police dog that would result in them still evading law enforcement, using only a firearm or knife.

If you think your buddy is going to be able to place a shot that not only actually hits the dog, but also doesn't harm you, you're in fantasy land.

Here's one thing, those were just training videos. Also, most people DO NOT know how to deal with animals. A human will back off with a threat, a dog or horse responds differently. That tends to scare people. I've seen many a footage of a guy held up in someone give up at the first sign of a dog. They weren't scared by a guy with a gun, but a dog is a different game.
