hmm, where would one go about buying such a thing (online)?

what kind of gas mileage do these things get? and how much for the cheapest new one?

You can't buy a bike online. You need to visit your local Suzuki dealer.

Also, it's highly recommended to take an MSF training course before you even place your butt on the seat of a bike.

I see a few on ebay motors....but no listing for this specific model. Any other places?

I don't really count eBay motors as buying a car online, since you'd be quite wise to actually visit the vehicle before you buy (ESPECIALLY with a bike) and you can't do that on eBay unless the auction is local.

Other than that, I think you should just visit your local motorcycle dealer. If you're wondering if you can buy a bike online, you should probably educate yourself about the specifics of owning a bike a little more.

PM LordJezo - he bought a low-CC bike earlier this year.

3 Reasons kinda. The first was I wanted a yamaha YZF600r but I couldn't find any good useed ones in like 3 weeks and I'm not waiting. The 2nd is I've been looking around and it's almost universally agreed that a 600 is a terrible starter bike. I figure I'll learn how to ride on this one, try not to get myself in trouble, then get an R6 next summer since these hold good resale value nad there's always R6's in the paper. I wanted the R6 anyways but knew it wouldn't be smart to start on an R6 so I was going to get teh YZF600. The 3rd reason is I'm really really stupid in a car so I know if I got a 600 I'd be pushing it way too fast.

I wouldn't have gotten this bike if it didn't have farings because I wanted a sportbike look. It just happened it was a great beginner bike and they changed the look this year.

YEah, I've heard my life expectancy dropped down to 6 monthes. I've been wanting to ride forever though.

I am not sure where your from.. but I ride a GS500 and I love it. Make a few mods and you can have a kiler bike. Just ask pablo on the site. Guy had 600cc supersports tailing him.

The GS500 finally has grown up in looks, but deep down its still that reliable machine..

Be careful riding it back, the tires might slip due to factory oils on teh tires. Take it slow and get hold of me on GStwin.. actually tehre are plenty of good ppl there on GStwin.

Thanks. Actually your advice on these forums had a little to do with why I chose that one.

I don't have a license or even know how to ride yet...taking the course next week so my friend is going to ride it back and I'm just going to screw around in a parking lot or in my neighborhood.
