BTW how does one go about getting one of these and being able to drive it? Special license? I know they are cheap so money definately aint a problem. Insurance must be a b*tch though.

He's smart.. buying a begginer bike.

I supposed you would be the squid buying an R1 for your first bike? Good luck with that. If you ever do that I got dibs on the parts when you wreck it :)

Good luck....and be careful. The odds of you seriously hurting yourself or dying on that thing are pretty high. I used to ride one myself and am only still alive by shear luck (one of the wrecks I had should have killed me). I have dead friends and aquaintances because of them. PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

Were you going fast or what? Thats the only thing that Id be worried about rather than normal driving but who wouldnt be speeding in one of those things?

I doubt he was being an idiot on the bike... so it was more likely oblivious drivers who only look for cars and not motorcycles. Riding a motorcycle will tell you that people in this country don't know how to drive. :D

Now if you were being an idiot on the bike... Darwin says hi. ;)

People riding those bikes surely arent the safest drivers out there! Ive seen guys doing wheelies on main streets and going way faster than the speed limit. Only time Ive seen a biker obeying the speed limits is in heavy traffic.

Heh... those are the idiots who ruin it for the rest of the people. Sooner or later they end up crashing the bike... of course they claim it on their insurance. I just got a quote for a honda... full coverage is $4000 a year... thats a new bike every freakin year...

What I was doing on my bike was stupid but at least I was in the middle of nowhere and the only person I could have hurt was myself. Leaving a bike at over 100 mph is usually a death sentence or at least severe injury territory.....I walked away without a scratch. It was my fault and I was stupid. I am a very responsible levelheaded person.....but these bikes can cause you to make bad decisions and do STUPID things. I have never since ridden my bikes the way I did that night.

Like I said....PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL!!!!!!

BTW....be aware that every idiot in a car is TRYING to hit you, they simply do not care and do not pay 1/4 the attention to the road they think they do. I cannot count the times that only my quick relfexes and incredible balance saved me from a body bag courtesy of some idiot in a car.

If a car that only goes 0-60 in 8 seconds can make you do stupid things than imagine what a crotch rocket will arise in you. Ya thanks, Im not getting one! Anyone want a gooey picture of what can happen in a motorcycle accident just search "accident" in Yahoo Image Search and its on one of the pages.

I love fast things, but man am I ever glad that I can't afford any of them (yep even too poor for a bike).

I would be one of those idiots who goes for the Hayabusa for their first (and only...) bike. Thats why I hope that when I ever get around to making some real money that I have some very loving people with me to keep me from something like this. I just wouldn't trust myself.

I've already made a pretty dumb decision that luckily had no consequences, but in hindsight, I realize that I should've been more considerate. This would be prom night of last year. I was taking my date home and decided that the nice 3 mile stretch ahead would be a nice place to see what my sister's car could do (Trans Am T/A Ram Air). Well, all I know is the speedos on them stop at 155 and the needle was about 10mph past that (so it was probably about 155mph). Luckily for me there was no train that at that time. We crested a hill going full speed and well, if there had been a train there, all you people would be probably reading about or seeing pictures of what real stupidity is. Oh yeah, I live in an area with a lot of deer too...

While I know it wasn't really a big deal, its a reminder of how some badass toys can make ya do some crazy stupid s#!t

Congrats on the 2004 GS500F.

Join us at http://www.gstwin.com and introduce yourself.

I am not sure where your from.. but I ride a GS500 and I love it. Make a few mods and you can have a kiler bike. Just ask pablo on the site. Guy had 600cc supersports tailing him.

The GS500 finally has grown up in looks, but deep down its still that reliable machine..

Be careful riding it back, the tires might slip due to factory oils on teh tires. Take it slow and get hold of me on GStwin.. actually tehre are plenty of good ppl there on GStwin.
