Man that would be sooo cool pullin up to some punk kid on a deserted road one night, and revving the engine lol. I don't know what mods he did to get that to 10 seconds, but is it still street legal? (probably gutted it at the very least). Your second link points to the same as the first BTW.

No it isn't street legal and yes it is gutted. You can read all about it on his sight at
http://www.thedodgegarage.com. He also has a 12.6 sec daytona shelby that is street legal and a 14.6 sec caravan turbo and all three together probably cost less than the 10k the integra cost 🙂. 4 bangers can make good drag cars but it helps if you start with something that is already turbod. It saves a bit of money.

<------- Owns an 89 caravan turbo sleeper 🙂

But as we all know, looks are subjective. As far as calling the hood a POS, the BMW E46 M3 CSL prototypes have been known to have extensive use of carbon fiber in its body panels due to its weight saving characteristics. So, my friend, before you go knocking on stuff you clearly have no knowledge about, make sure you get the facts straight and make sure to read the entire thread 🙂

Carbon Fiber = Poser!

Why? Let me tell you:

1. A carbon fiber hood costs ~$750
2. It saves <20 lbs
3. That is $750 for an at best 1% increase to your power/weight ratio
4. carbon fiber is paintable, but noone paints it to appear l337...

in other words spending $750 to make your car look like you are pretending to make it faster = POSER.

QED

i think the overall reaction of this thread should be a good indicator of what people on the street would think. by that i mean it only garners respect from those with a working knowledge of what goes into it, and what purpose it serves. mostly import people, and few others. but it's funny how you mention "funny how the AT people think", because it's not just some AT people that are clueless.

i don't expect everyone i see to know what a carbon fiber hood is and what purpose it serves, just that many are going to think it's retarded to have a different color hood and car.

it's a good car for the price, but as an ex-integra owner i'm going to have to say it's a little overkill. the kit alone really jacks up the image, i love a clean ride, and that's the style i like. bloated and over the top like this makes me frown a bit. i almost went for a jdm frontend myself, but i also realized while i wanted it only integra fans were going to know what the hell it was. the balance has to be struck between power and looks, it's easy to go overboard on looks like this.

just my humble opinion.

I dont know where you got the price of $750. I clearely him remember getting that hood for $375.

i dont believe he runs 13.2 on this teg. does he have time slips?
turbos help make a car quick but there is no way hes making 260hp+ on a civic SI engine even with a turbo, most tegs i see turboed and modded to hell are higher 13's and some lower 13's but with the boost WAY up and running on race gas.

i would think a camaro SS which runs low 13 would whip that teg a new one...no way hes running 13.2...ill believe it when i see timeslips

Isn't $375 still sort of a lot for a hood that serves little practicality? Oh well. What does QED stand for? Is it a latin abbrev.?

*edit* klezvirus, why the fux isn't that second link in your sig working dammit?? (i'm only half-joking....)

Actually, I know someone putting out something like 260hp on his SI ... but he spent way too much money on the mods (260hp without nitrous, just a turbo with high boost and the other standard goodies). He didnt run low 13's though, he still ran some crappy number.

And kLezViruS, I read the article. I think he should have fixed the car up stock and it would be much better looking than it is now. It wouldn't be as fast as he claims his car is now, but it would be respectable.

abbr.
Latin. quod erat demonstrandum (which was to be demonstrated).

And the car is slow and ugly, the combination of which is unforgivable.

Wow, long thread...

Personally I don't think I could ever drive this car, I guess I am just not secure enough in my masculinity. I mean it must be tough for him to have so many people think he's ghey, unless he is of course. Kind of funny also that the girls shoes are riced as well.

it's a nice car, oh, wait, i meant to say "rice car".
i don't think i've ever found a rice car looking nice.
it's just an ill-attempt to look stupid to the mass.
ricers might as well get a better car with all those useless mods (e.g. wings on a civic? why bother, lol).

the only thing that looks remotely acceptable is the girl. 😀
too bad she sits on a pos though 🙁

Spending a lot of money on upgrades and aftermarket parts on an old POS salvage-title '94 Integra RS to make it look like a JDM '99 Integra Type R and then wanting people to think you're cool for it. Spending $500 on an ugly black carbon fiber hood to save less 30 pounds in body weight (dude, that adds 20 horsepower 😉 ).
You know, those cars with fart-can mufflers and park-bench wings and lots of stickers...
That kinda thing...

a 94 integra is a pos? crackhead

the jdm itr headlights are awesome. most guys who do that can afford it cuz of an insurance claim. you didnt know that did you? ya ok lots of people spend over $3500 just to trick others..

anyone who would even know those are jdm itr headlights would be able to tell if the car is real or not, so its just the fact they look so good that i would admire it.

my friend imported a jdm itr and i bet youd think it was fake too. well not until you notice its right hand drive, or no wait, youll assume it was also a fake and converted =D
