Man that would be sooo cool pullin up to some punk kid on a deserted road one night, and revving the engine lol. I don't know what mods he did to get that to 10 seconds, but is it still street legal? (probably gutted it at the very least). Your second link points to the same as the first BTW.
Carbon Fiber = Poser!Originally posted by: bUnMaNGoafaik, carbon fiber is supposed to be blackish. cf hoods not only serve an aesthetic purpose but are installed for performance purposes as well. if you would have read through all of the posts you would've found out that cf hoods actually save weight when compared to stock hoods. to some people, it actually looks kinda cool too 😛 I agree though, the cf hood would look much better with a black/gunmetal colored car. But as we all know, looks are subjective. As far as calling the hood a POS, the BMW E46 M3 CSL prototypes have been known to have extensive use of carbon fiber in its body panels due to its weight saving characteristics. So, my friend, before you go knocking on stuff you clearly have no knowledge about, make sure you get the facts straight and make sure to read the entire thread 🙂

Why? Let me tell you:
1. A carbon fiber hood costs ~$750
2. It saves <20 lbs
3. That is $750 for an at best 1% increase to your power/weight ratio
4. carbon fiber is paintable, but noone paints it to appear l337...
in other words spending $750 to make your car look like you are pretending to make it faster = POSER.

turbos help make a car quick but there is no way hes making 260hp+ on a civic SI engine even with a turbo, most tegs i see turboed and modded to hell are higher 13's and some lower 13's but with the boost WAY up and running on race gas.
i would think a camaro SS which runs low 13 would whip that teg a new one...no way hes running 13.2...ill believe it when i see timeslips

Isn't $375 still sort of a lot for a hood that serves little practicality? Oh well. What does QED stand for? Is it a latin abbrev.?

Spending a lot of money on upgrades and aftermarket parts on an old POS salvage-title '94 Integra RS to make it look like a JDM '99 Integra Type R and then wanting people to think you're cool for it. Spending $500 on an ugly black carbon fiber hood to save less 30 pounds in body weight (dude, that adds 20 horsepower 😉 ).
You know, those cars with fart-can mufflers and park-bench wings and lots of stickers...
That kinda thing...
