1) your check engine light comes on.
2) someone who presumably knows what they are doing diagnoses it as cylinder misfires.
3) you rush to ATOT to get advice on what to do.
Did you have a head injury between steps 2 and 3? Either you're dumb or just looking for attention, because the person who told you what was wrong would be the same one who could tell you how to get it fixed. I don't think your car will explode because that light is on, but I'm pretty sure it's not just for getting into the holiday spirit.
flame on.
edit: it probably is spark plugs (or related).
Well, here's the deal bee-iatch, STOP BITCHING....if you dont wanna help out, just dont reply to the fawkin thread, bee-iatch.
But for clarification purposes, here's the cliff notes version of what happened:
1. check engine lightcame on.
2. I took it into mechanics shop, however the main ASE certified mechanic was off that day.
3. So his so called "assistant" helped me out. He got out one of those trouble code readers that you plug into a socket in my car which reads the trouble codes.
4. The codes were p301, p302, and p1300, which means 'cylinder 1 misfire,' 'cylender 2 misfire,' and 'random misfire' respectively.
5. the assistant read the codes from the computer code reader, but does not really know how to go about fixing it. He asked me to go back when the ASE certified mechanic was in.
6. So, since I did not have time to bring my car into the shop again, I came to anandtech forums to see who knows enough from what i've explained can help.
7. ZeroNine8 starts bitching like a little girl! End of cliff notes!
