cheap savage4 AGP 4x video card - $8.99

i was in need of a cheap agp card for pretty much strictly 2d use and came across this card at PC Surplus Online. They are system pulls with a 30-day warranty and were orginally made by the now-defunct Number Nine. From what i have read, however, you can download current reference drivers from s3 and they work fine. These are only 8MB cards but if you are doing mostly 2d work these should more than suffice - and the image quality is supposed to be above average as well.

These are pretty decent 2d cards, I've been using a 16mb version of this card (same Number Nine mfg) on my desktop at work for the past 2 years. No complaints at all, lately I've also discovered it can run Counter-Strike at 640x480 OpenGL decently so I'm wooping up all my co-workers who are stuck in software mode, hehe.

yeah - i figured there might be some interest in this given the number of people who wanted the (older) $10 ati xpert 98 from babbages thats floating around the forum

<< Shipping and Handling is $8.00 plus $2.00 each additional in the Continental U.S. ONLY >>

Pretty nice price...makes the shipping seem high🙂😉:frown:

dude whats up with shipping is
seems kind of high for a video card
may be im wrong but taking shipping into consideration there are cheaper cards out there

They probably ship UPS. Thier shipping rates are terrible...they start at around $6.00, so $8 is about the going rate for standard ground. That's why I like USPS so much....$3.20 for up to 2 lbs. Can't beat that!

The Matrox card seems nice at 14.99... deal head and Matrox 2D quality... PCI... might be perfect for an old computer... I have a k6-2 350 w/ no AGP and this seems like a good deal.
