I don't have one, and yeah I know who he is. I was in peru the summer before this last one, and his famous pose was painted on the back of so many taxis I eventually looked up who the heck El "Che" is.

It just means that you think it's right to murder in the name of ideology.

how is it he got so popular with kids today?

Years ago I coached soccer camps, and there was one kid that wore a Che shirt all week long. I asked him who was on his shirt. He thought it was Zach De La Rocha from Rage Against the Machine.

😕

Granted the kid was only 14 but still...

Is it not? I would kill someone who tried to force me to subscribe to their ideology. I would kill millions if they were communists threatening my capitalist way of life without hesitation. I would kill to defend myself or my property or my livelihood.

What other reason is their to kill than to preserve your ideology from being overrun by one that is incompatible with yours?

Might does not make right, it only determines the ruling ideology for the day. Everyone is 'right' in their own eyes. It doesn't matter if you are Communist, Capitalist, Christian, Muslim, whatever, that person thinks they are just as right as you think you are.

There really isn't a right or wrong; there are simply differing opinions on the way to do things. What we perceive as 'right' is simply determined by who is left standing at the end of the day.

There really isn't a right or wrong; what is right is simply determined by who is left.

The problem arises when the majority kills the minority, not the other way around. Defending your ideology is one thing. Destroying any opposing ideology is another.

The problem arises when an ideology is not happy with having its only little group in it's own part of the world in it's own borders. The problem arises when one alien ideology forcibly infects and displaces the borders, language, and culture of another, and when it tries to expand and use force (or no force at all ie: Mexico) to spread it's ideology against the others will. Muslims spreading Islam by force, the USA 'spreading democracy' by force, Mexico proliferating an illegal invasion and socialist movement in the USA, etc.

(Not that I'm against the US use of force, but our military is for crushing enemies and nothing more. We have no business 'spreading democracy' as it's not for everyone, especially those who don't want it)

Only found out who/what he was a year or two ago and don't get why people seem to love wearing "him". It's almost as stupid as seeing 16 year olds wearing Bob Marley shirts...

It's stupidly ironic, stereotypical of todays youth, and hypocritical.

I thought about buying one of those with his face that has the caption "I fought capitalism and all I got was this stupid t-shirt" or whatever.

Also, I wouldn't exactly idolize him. I agree with his views, I do not agree with how he went about it. Killing innocent people? WTF CHE?!

How do you enforce communism without killing/forcing people who are against you? Communism and mass murder come hand in hand.

Communism: bow to my communist ideology or I will kill you.
Capitalism: do what you want.

Difference between communism and capitalism is that in one, it's either conformity or death, whilst in the other you have the freedom to choose (except for the ability to force other people to do what you want).

I have the Maddox t-shirt that is styled after the Che shirt. I once had someone ask me if I knew who the guy on my shirt was. After the conversation ended I felt really stupid knowing that she thought that I think Che Guevara is some guy on the Internet who pretends to be a pirate. 🙁

Do you have a "cool t-shirt" of Hitler too? No? Why not? What about Stalin?

The funny thing is that the Che image is copyrighted. Every shirt sold makes money for some capitalist who doesn't contribute labor to its creation, something totally against what Che believed in. I think it's kind of fitting.

That's a crock if I've ever heard one. I could say murder, deceit and capitalism come hand in hand, too. As far as your train of thought goes, I'd be right, too.

There have been far more communism based economic systems in the history of the world, and the higher instance of communism means there's a greater chance of one of them turning out to be a dictatorship, totalitarianism, or fascism. That is what confuses people the most. Capitalism, should it have been more popular, would have turned out just the same.

I think you're confused, communism is not inherently evil, neither is capitalism. The government system is what drives the evil, it has absolutely nothing to do with the economic system.

Because he is seen as this "rebel" who did "what he believed in" and for all these ignorant liberal idiots, that's thinking outside the box, so thus, he must be a good guy...you know, going against society, especially those dirty capitalist pigs.

Communism sucks, because even if communism did work, working and all that would not be rewarded. No matter how hard you worked, you could not better your position--so why work at all? Why work to get fruits of your labor, if those fruits are distributed to other people?

Communism is a bum (both literally and figuratively) economic system that plain sucks.

Why work? No work, no society, know work, know society.

No, I do not own one because I know who the worthless scumbag was.

I do own one of these though.

I find that shirt more offensive than the Che shirt. Reagan killed far, far more innocents than Che.

Um, yep - just like Christianity and mass murder, Islam and mass murder, capitalism and mass murder, manifest destiny and mass murder, so on, and so forth. Pick your ideology and the scumbags will kill for it.

QFT.

Sort of like all of those capitalist kids choosing to make shoes for $.10 a day? Um, yeah. Sure, it's the best they've got and it's better than nothing. But if the choice is to work for Nike or starve to death, how much of a choice is that? Do you really think that was the choice they made 100 years ago? Do you really think that they're better off now than then? There's more to the world than what you see on prime time.

I know that two-step reasoning is an evil tool of the intellectual liberal conspiracy, but I figured it's worth a shot.
