Do we have confirmation he had a gun? I've heard people who know him say he has the same weekday routine, read a book and wait for the bus. I've already heard he is handicapped and stutters. We don't know yet how the communication ensued. Nobody has characterized this as a race riot except the OP. Flaming much?.

Come on man, the guy's brother just got shot. Even if the shooting was legally justified you can understand why he's going to be angry and in shock immediately afterwards. The news media is full of ghouls always trying to get statements from people who just experienced a tragedy and this is a prime example. What do you think someone is going to say when you shove a camera and microphone in their face and say "your brother just got shot, tell us what's going through your head right now." Leave them the hell alone and respect their privacy unless they ask for the news crews to serve as their microphone.

Put in the context of Tulsa not surprised this happed even I do not condone.

The one think I will look for is the cops telling the entire truth. In many of these cases that hasn't happened and trust with the community has eroded.

Why don't we all wait until more evidence comes in.

Facts for those a bit occupied who don't live here in Charlotte.

Keith Lamont Scott was a convicted felon with multiple assault charges including physical assault of a 12 year old just a few years ago. He's had multiple weapons convictions and two of those involved firearms with intent to kill.

He had a gun, illegally as an ex felon can't legally own a gun in NC or most places for that matter.

The chief of police today said the video does not show everything, but combined with other evidence INCLUDING non-police eye witness testimony bears the truth of the police statement that he had a gun, and it was in his hand. You do not have to point your gun at an officer to be considered a deadly threat with intent.

So fuck that guy. What ever motivated him to brandish his illegal firearm is also what got him killed. No sympathy from me.

Everyone who wants to jump to the same conclusion you have formed, is perfectly okay, and encouraged, to do so. When it's someone whom you personally wish is wrong, and it's "WE MUST WAIT FOR THE EVIDENCE!"

Seriously, though, most of us in this thread would love to wait for more evidence before acting. The rioters, however, have ignored logic and jumped the gun and forced everyone else to react. So, who exactly are you directing your recommendation to wait towards?
