Sadly the Governor claims that the riots have costed over $1 million so far. The floods? $250k. Both came out of the disaster relief account. Wonder how much is left in case of another disaster.

NC spent more on protests than flood, governor says
http://www.cnn.com/2016/09/26/us/nc-spending-more-on-protests-than-flood-victims/index.html

Burning down their own community, stealing from their own community, costing their own community tons of money. People will be out of work, but hey that's cool. They got some free stuff and destroyed property all because they couldn't wait for facts. I put a lot of the blame on the media, pushing the families statements that he didn't have a gun, just a book. That he wasn't doing anything illegal, just reading.

Floods only cost $250k? Surely that can't be right.

Both figures seemed low to me, but I'm not in that business. I can't imagine the destroyed buildings and other properties being factored into the figures either. Perhaps it's just the man hours of each, the article doesn't say.

No, it is not true. Anyone who meets the qualifications can own and carry a gun legally. Everyone takes a risk if they do stupid things, and/or carry illegally. Your statement was false, trolling, and making things worse instead of better. But you can't even admit that, good job.

He fails to note that the blacks shot by police were widely not the legal owners of the firearm they possessed. Apparently that doesn't matter to liberals.

To be fair I don't think that's very relevant unless the police have some secret technology that can scan any gun being held and determine "Yep, that one was stolen!"

Agreed, maybe relevant in a discussion on gun control but a gun is a gun when confronting the police (or anyone else) with it and the topic of "unjustified" black deaths at the hands law enforcement.

You all talking about the felon, in possession of a stolen handgun, with prior convictions of shooting at cops? Such a fine up standing hood-rat.

Washington Post - a black mom with 4 dead sons to gun violence, do these black lives matter? - https://www.washingtonpost.com/loca...1c9d1e-83da-11e6-a3ef-f35afb41797f_story.html

Gray was stuck in a cycle all too familiar in her neighborhood.

Violence, silence. Violence, silence.

Over and over......

It’s a complex problem, this persistent cycle of violence that plagues America’s poorest neighborhoods. The victims and shooters are mostly young black men.

No marching, no screaming, no yelling, no blocking traffic, no BLM movement... nothing... and no conviction of the killers after all these years. Where are all the screaming and yelling of "No Justice, No Peace " for this suffering mother?

The story of police shootings really is a deeper story of gun violence in America.
And police aren't the only ones scared of men with guns.

More specifically the protests/riots are generally over symbolic events, the proverbial last straw for the underclass, not exactly a rarity in history. Which is why it's always amusing to watch the klan rant about the uppity minorities upset over a guy with a gun, like a parody of Marie-Antoinette.
