This thread is ballooning so fast I'm not sure this was posted but I found it rather incongruous, the reasons for the firing and what was actually said.

Nutty Netanyahu blames Kirk killing on radical Islamists

Just when you thought nobody could top the MAGA insanity.... From the Mormon -> radical Islam pipeline. Who knew? A Hamas base was using Utah Valley University as a shield?

Yeah, the White Mormon guy obsessed with Nick Fuentes from a RWNJ Republican family in Utah who hasn't so much been whispered about as having to do anything with Islam is a radical Islamist. Suuuure thing Bibi
With victim mentality everything is about you. His personal hatred is reflected back at him everywhere. That's what projection is.

I like this comment to a current NYTimes piece (whose Comments section is now closed, IMO a bad habit of the times):

I always appreciate hearing Carlos Lozada's take on things.

Still ... given that official DOJ communications have consistently and pointedly referred to the shooting deaths of a Minnesota state senator and her husband as "murders," I'm having a hard time buying that the killing of a right-wing agitator who never served in government or the military (or even a charitable organization) amounts to an "assassination."

"Charlie Kirk fought for liberty, democracy, justice, and the American people. He’s a martyr for truth and freedom"

--- Donald Trump

That comment attributed to Donald Trump was not created by him. He's incapable of writing or saying a statement (lies) of that calibre (talking grammar here). That was crafted and conceived by someone else in Team Treason.

Disclaimer: I have never, nor would I be so presumptuous, but I have a question.

If you take every piece of this story in total and I won't repeat them ask yourself. Is God trying to tell us something?
The world is always trying to tell you something, well, especially where multiple people are involved. A person I found remarkable told me: Life is constantly inviting you to self-realize. It was a long time ago, I paraphrased that, I don't recall the exact words.

Japan, Australia and England have shown restrictions with positive results is possible.
The gun death rate in Australia is about 20 times less than the lowest state rate (a list was posted a few days ago in this thread). 0.1 per 100k folk.

But...

I feel we are slowly losing. Members of far right groups have no issues anymore in opening fire on police. Australian police officers have died in two incidents recently;
In the last one listed, the manhunt is currently ongoing. Apparently he is a prepper and can probably outlast the police.

More and more 3D printed and homemade guns are found. And maybe the gun laws have holes... two individuals in Sydney have more than 600 guns between them. Probably a small cache by American standards, but kinda eyebrow raising here in Australia.

It's nice to see Charlie's wife helping to tone down the violent rhetoric:

“You have no idea what you have just unleashed across this entire country and this world. You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife. The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.“

So is this going to The Night of Long Knives II - Lenny vs Squiggy? She's going to be so mad when she figures out who radicalized her husband's killer.

The Nation putting out a piece that states most people with functioning brains in this thread have been saying. Maybe those with reading comprehension problems would like to tell us all how this is bad:

Charles James Kirk, 31, died on Wednesday from a gunshot to the neck at a Utah Valley University campus event just as he was trying to deflect a question about mass shootings by suggesting they were largely a function of gang violence. He died with a net worth of $12 million, which he made by espousing horrific and bigoted views in the name of advancing Christian nationalism. The foundation of his empire was the group he cofounded and led, Turning Point USA, which is a key youth-recruitment arm of the MAGA movement. Kirk was able to launch Turning Point at the age of 18 because he received money from Tea Party member Bill Montgomery, right-wing donor Foster Feiss, and his own father, also a prolific right-wing donor. He was an unrepentant racist, transphobe, homophobe, and misogynist who often wrapped his bigotry in Bible verses because there was no other way to pretend that it was morally correct. He had children, as do many vile people.

There is no requirement to take part in this whitewashing campaign, and refusing to join in doesn’t make anyone a bad person. It’s a choice to write an obituary that begins “Joseph Goebbels was a gifted marketer and loving father to six children.”

Many of the facile defenses of Kirk and his legacy are predicated on the idea that it’s acceptable to spread hateful ideas advocating for the persecution of perceived enemies as long you dress them up in a posture of debate. This is just class privilege. The man who said, “Black women do not have brain processing power to be taken seriously. You have to go steal a white person’s slot” said it while wearing a nice shirt and a tie on a podcast instead of tattered overalls in the parking lot of a rural Walmart. That does not make it any less racist.

I think most of us have a pretty good idea actually. Talk radio and TV show circuit, political rally appearances, oh can't forget a book deal. At least one. She's going to drape herself with the flag, hoist and wave a bible, and march her bereaved ass to the bank.

Well, if I was a trigger happy magat like the shooter, that approved of murdering propagandists, I'd remind her that not only is having ideas not our strong suit, we're OK with making wives cry. Hell we worship a pedo and rapist, lady. I wouldn't expect people who live in a right wing echochamber to become scared of echoes either, just a heads up.

That contrived quote from Trump should, for accuracy's sake, be written as "Charlie Kirk fought for fascism against democracy, justice, and the American people. He’s a martyred fascist fighting against truth and freedom".

Amazing how in the MAGAt universe, their version of the First Amendment gives them the right to freely lie, deceive and disinform, for without their party would be exposed as a mob carrying out orders given to them by the Heritage Foundation and the Federalist Society.

Clearly you never listened to a word the man said. I'm also not the least bit surprised you have no issue with him being murdered.
It must really suck to have a head full of contempt and hate.
Charlie Kirk was a fucking clown that only spewed hate. He got what he gave. This is a lesson
for anyone . Don't be a dick!

From what I understand, Kirk died because he wasn't a big enough dick. The shooter seemed to be a member of the Groyper's and they have been in two 'wars' with Turning Point USA, Kirk's organisation.

Becoming a pedo defender certainly didn't do his image any favors, could have been the final straw with other crazies.

C'mon, don't give the trolls ammo. He was many things: a clown, a fake christian, a horrible American, a wannabe intellectual, a pedo and treason defender - but he wasn't a murderer, far as I know. He gave fake debates and shoveled GQP slop. He got a .30 cal projectile to the neck. Not a comparison I'd lean on if I were you, it's a bit wobbly there.

Peace loving MAGA Nazis are planning their consolidation of power and the elimination of human rights.

After Charlie Kirk’s Killing, The Right Dreams Of A Chilling Crackdown

Less than two days later and with much still unknown, right-wing figures are making declarations of war and calling for retribution.
...
Calls have ranged from declarations of “war” against Democrats and liberals to allusions to the 1933 burning of the Reichstag that led to the suspension of civil liberties in Germany and, eventually, the passage of the Enabling Act, giving Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party unreviewable power to crush their domestic opponents.
“Charlie Kirk is a casualty of war,” Steve Bannon, the former adviser to Trump, said Wednesday on his podcast named “War Room.” “We are at war in this country. We are.”

The BBC headline for this news story was along the lines of "Kirk's widow gives tearful address", with some more benign wording like ""I will never let his legacy die," Charlie Kirk's wife says in her first public comments since he was fatally shot at a Utah university campus on Wednesday", and it got me thinking: If Charlie Kirk had said all the things he's said but was Middle-Eastern and followed an Islamic variant religion, I'm pretty sure the BBC write-up would have been along the lines of "terrorist's window calls for violence to avenge her husband".

Any more information about the killer's motives? I'm not at all convinced that this was an internecine right-wing thing - I've seen claims that people who knew him say he was a 'leftist' (the only one in his family). Though it seems fair to suggest he picked up his fondness for firearms, and competency using them, from his family background.

Though, whether the political motivation was right or left, it seems a strange choice of target and timing. I mean, if he was a 'leftist' what's the point in doing this now? Trump's already been re-elected. A bit late. It seems irrational (like a lot of gun violence).

Rather than the Reichstag fire, a better parallel might be Sergei Kirov.

I thought him being identified as a 'groyper' was mentioned earlier in this thread, and he considered Kirk to be not conservative enough. Groypers according to wiki are "the alt-right will rise again" types who don't realise that the American right, far-right and alt-right are the same thing.

She's his Chinese Zodiac soulmate. No wonder. Otherwise, Greek Zodiac sign compatibility wasn't that great. She most likely leeched onto him for his fame (or infamy).

Yes, but I also saw contradictory claims saying his former friend (and fellow gamer) had described him as "very left wing". Though, now I look for that report, it now says

Editor’s note: This article was updated on 12 September 2025 to remove quotes after the verified source who attended high school with Tyler Robinson said after publication that they could not accurately remember details of their relationship.

So, who knows? Still as clear as mud.

I mean, those bullet casing inscriptions seem a bit contrdictory - anti-fascist references, plus a homophobic remark. Not to mention they seem a heck of a lot of words to 'engrave' on a bullet casing. Who goes to that much effort? That Luigi guy only inscribed three short words, not long, rambling sentences.

I’m pretty sure if the kid was a leftist or a democrat they wouldn’t have waited a day or so to announce they had him in custody and would be all over trumpeting he was a radical leftist. Instead the day was used for scrubbing the internet.
