I've always thought Asian names were pretty easy.

thai names
/end thread

Seriously. As a Korean-American when I heard about this I thought "Park? Chung? Lee? Kim" Really? I thought about Japanese last names, which I think are kinda fun to pronounce. Chinese some are harder than others, but really?

Then I remembered Thai first and last names and can feel some sympathy. Damn, some of those names are hard (if not impossible for a non-native speaker) to pronounce... but what Brown said was a really dumb anyways.

I guess we all can't be lucky enough to be named "Betty Brown"

maybe its a viet or whatever thing, most other asians have english names. even our parents because of places like hong kong english was also used so they had english names from the get go or adopted them. very few immigrant chinese kids have chinese names, if they do its because they came as older folk or hate fobby parents.

I wouldn't mind seeing English as an official language in Texas, but forcing people to Anglicize their names is dumb. They are already Romanizing them.

I think it's the same with Chinese.
Don't think Vietnamese is - Japanese is definitely not.

*tries to remember his Korean friends' last names* Holy crap you're right! I never noticed this.

And from that same thread, my favorite response:

How about you fuck off, you sack of useless shit? All you do is shit on other people, pretending like you're hot shit, and then call other people trolls and the like. How about you shape up and quit acting like an assclown, and maybe more people would care for what you say.

In regards to Polish surnames, why is it "*ski" for guys and "*ska" for gals?

asian names ftw.

If you want the most flammboyant names, look no further than Hong Kong. They are officially part of China, but the culture is so different.

They all choose an English first name that they generally use for workplace names (like the name on the name tag) and for foreigners. The names they choose can be kind of fun. There's a girl that works in a bakery who is named "Cake."

I think Texas has bigger problems to deal with than to worry about why my name is Chin Tu Fat.
