Very easy setup and everything looks good all the options with the exception of mult. options.

I like the board, but I will be upgrading when they have dual channel for a 754 socket.

End of update.

sisoft sandra and it will be on CPU/BIOS area, additionally you can get it through the motherboard icon as well.

Hope that helps...what is the highest FSB you have achieved and how did you get it? I will be doing more...PLAYIN...tomorrow.

Thanks for the info... also here are MBM settings I got from another forum:

CPU sensor is ITE8712F -1 Diode and set the temperature compensation for 30 C

Using those settings for MBM I am getting:

36-37 Idle
46-48 Load

I am still running at stock FSB and voltage. I know they temps are a bit high, but I live in a hot place with no air conditioning (Hawaii) and I have a Lian-Li PC6070 Silent case, which both add to the temps a bit.

I have been doing a bunch of stress testing to make sure that I am completely stable. Now that things seem to be rock solid I will start the FSB tests...

Schnieds😉

The files for setting up the raid are on the drivers CD. Look in the Readme.txt file and it shows what directory its in.
I was looking at that and it has drivers from a Promise IDE RAID. I didn't think this supported that, just SATA RAID. Anyone tried to actually use that?

EDIT.
There is a review now, and anyone who reads Korean, pleeeeeeeeeeeez can you do a real translation. Babelfish really isn't up to the technical stuff:

"The nForce3 150 from the Chaintech which puts into the market quickly puts into the market at the nForce3 250 degree industry beginning. The nForce3 250 chip three the loading one main board the chain theyk shifts the Apogee which is an existing supply elder brother brand with the brand which is a Zenith Value, becomes the come into the market with the new brand, it has the model life which is a VNF3-250. Of the consequently with the existing Zenith product army principle it is a product army different brand and it thinks when currently brand shift of the Apogee product army the side it does. The existing Apogee brand other keys with as grudge, is forecast a middle/high-class elder brother market with the fact that because is a plan come into the market in the price where also the Zenith Value VNF3-250 120000 great is cheap it will get up a wave length in Athlon 64 total."

"The dignity ticket the chip three star of the PCWatch su pheyk amends the ticket in small quantity and with the fact that it indicates from the nVIDIA home page of the company it leads and referring the detailed portion compared to with the RAID and the single chip it has only strong point public information dignity su pheyk, it sees the dignity ticket which refers to the ticket and the nForce3 all production army is connected and the AThlon64 processor and the Up/Down 16bit/16bit 800Mhz with it is indicated with a bandwidth that the maximum 6.4GB/sec it is connected, (the bandwidth which is the bandwidth which unites the Up/Down) home page of the case company of the nVIDIA it leads and 3.6GB/sec it refers."

"Board country 'gorgeousness is extreme the green onion it disperses all things of ZENITH and Athlon 64, nForce3 150,! Chain theyk from ZENITH ZNF3-150 review ' extraction"

Myself, I'm all about the "dignity ticket", and "gorgeousness is extreme the green onion!"

Well guys and gals...my cpu temps are still good at 34C at prime 95 and I finally gave in and turned the hypertransport down a notch to X3 @ 240 fsb which is about 720 which is still fine. Who knows...I may get 2.5 gig. The CPU speed certainly overrides any gains I could have got with TT...just have to see what Mr. Prime95 says.

Anyone thinking on getting this board for the new functionality should rread the following review

X-bit Labs

The Chaintech Zenith ZNF3-250 is based around the same PCB as its predecessor, Zenith ZNF3-150, and this fact explains why not all of the chipset capabilities have been implemented in the mainboard. Yes, the two chipsets (nForce3 150 and 250) are pin-compatible, but the latter chipset has much broader functionality. As a result, the only difference between the two Zenith mainboards from Chaintech is the faster HyperTransport bus in the ZNF3-250.

I know from using it you can alter the chipset voltage up to 1.9 and all the other stuff seems to be accurate...but for 79 bucks...it rocks

I wonder if it's even working? I played some games and the temp never increased. It stayed constant in the 47-50 range. Well, if you don't count the adjustment, it's in the 17-20 range.

Actually the XBit Labs review isn't a good source for determining information about this board. The Xbit reviewed the ZNF3-250, which is the expensive NForce 250 model from Chaintech, we are talking about the VNF3-250 which not only is very cheap, but does have a lot of the NForce 250 chipset features implemented. For instance the AGP/PCI locks are working, the HT is running at 800MHz and the onboard SATA RAID is native NForce so the bandwidth the RAID uses is not shared with the PCI bus...

Looks like a decent mobo... still not sure if I could ever buy a Chaintech though 😛

then again, I probably had heard of Soltek before I broke down and tried one, and though the same thing... crap! now I love Soltek. 😀

Anyone else been having conflict in Win XP Pro w/ video cards?

I've been trying to get my GeForce 5700 Ultra to cooperate, and it keeps conflicting with the PCI interface. Needless to say that plays havoc with any PCI cards I've got hooked up. XP usually lets you move the conflicting resources, but in this case it won't.
It seems kinda funny that this is essentially 2 nVidia devices not playing nice together.

Obviously the easy solution is to swap vid cards, but this is actually my spare. My ATI 9800 Pro just died as I was trying to put this machine together. Before it died, that ATI card was doing just fine.

"Other than that, how was the play Mr. Lincoln?"

Hey guys...
First post here. I saw you were discussing the Chaintech Value 250 board. I had to join to let you know I've just done a full review on it at the ocworkbench site.

There is no firewire...no ports anywhere and manual shows no pinout, either.
The AGP/PCI lock works...
There was a problem with the initial BIOS showing incorrect temp for CPU. BIOS showed 12-14C. In WinXP with either MBM5 or the utility provided be Chaintech showed 70-71C! We found a BIOS from the ChaintechKorea site that fixed that issue. It now reads a internal die temp (at full load) of 53-55C.

There is no multiplier adjustment in the BIOS. This is not a problem for me since the RAM I'm running right now is what is holding me back...

I bought this one from NewEgg for $79. It was a few days that they had a instant $20 rebate.
I found it to be very fast and very stable.

Welcome Gortok 🙂

Nice review and I need to try the Pi. I am getting varied sucess with Prime95. I can get an error after about an hour but play games all day at 2.45 gig. Of course I have to do the same trick with the memory like you did till my PC4000 shows up...;>)

My raid scores were anywhere from 76-79 mb/sec....yeah.

I really like the motherboard but what does everyone thing about upgrading to the 7.1 via envy card that is made by chaintech or do I stick with onboard??

The SuperPi 1 meg test is great for a quick check to see if things are fairly stable. If it errors, adjust ram or voltage...
Keep working at it... the longer the test the more stressful it is...

I wouldn't know how to place speakers in a 7.1 setup...heehee. I've got a 5.1 that works beautifully. Where do the extra two go??

As far as the VNF3 goes. It's a hell of a board for the price. Now, to get some better RAM ! !

Thanks for the "welcome".
