OK so I was watching Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn last night, at 11:30, and apparently every time they say the N word they are bleeped. However, Chappelle's show, which normally airs at 10:30, is allowed to say it over and over again without being bleeped. There was even a whole skit where they just say it over and over. What's the deal? Same network?? Is it cause the host of the show isn't black?

I'd guess that's exactly the reason. Also, Dave's show has a different premise, and that is offensive humor based on his comedy. As a black comic, he says oh noes teh N word a lot.

Have you ever seen tough crowd? That show is just as, if not more offensive than chappelle's show.

And the guy on tough crowd who was being bleeped was black. It was a skit where he was applying for his liscense to say the n word.

What are you guys talking about? Neither show is offensive. Maybe if you're one of those people who likes to pretend race doesn't exist, they are offensive shows.

I am so offended.

Not really. I've never seen Tough Crowd, but the Chappelle Show doesn't offend me. I just assumed it offended other people who don't enjoy racial humor. I enjoy racial humor. :p

But yeah, it's because Dave Chappelle is black.

It's not offensive to me, but most people would find it offensive in today's PC environment, that's what I meant.

Anyone remember that one south park episode where they said Sh!t like 184 times (there was a counter).
But then in other episodes, like the last new one, I heard Cartman say it, but he got bleeped out.

I've seen movies where they bleep a$$, and I'm talking TNT at like 10pm.
Then there's shows like "The Shield" that pretty much say and show anything they want...

I guess I'm not helping here, just adding more confusion.

Thats what is needed to press the envelope. More confusion please, I for one cannot wait for the day that I can see lesbians butt slamming each other with toys on network television.

actually for that south park episode the creators said they were gonna say it as many times in one episode as possible, and then never say it again cause its boring or something

Well, technically, Dave used a different spelling of the word that resulted in the same enunciation...part of the wit of the skit...just walking the line...

i'd imagine on these cable shows it may come down to the producer's decision..

I took one. Race doesn't exist biologically. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist in the real world.

Sociologists think race exists. It is a point of contention and not a fact in any circle.

Of course race exists. It will until everyone looks the same (that's what the anti miscogynousisists fear right?)..

But will everyone ever look the same? It would take millions of years right? Long enough for another ice age and civilization to start over again. :p

The first time I see two white parents produce an asian kid... or two black parents produce a hispanic kid.. or two arab parents produce an eskimo, I'll believe that biology is not involved in the determination of race.

i dont think race really makes us any different. races is based on physical look.

i'm sure we can genetically engineer those white people to make asian looking kids.

really the phenotypic differences (i guess this is what they are) are mostly based on climate and global location of a people. its just like how people in some parts of the world are fatter because its colder there (fat people have less surface area so they retain heat better)

anyhow.. the concept of race is basically the same as if we classified tall people and short people as different "races" or fat and skinny etc. people just have a thing about skin color and eyes and hair. i guess its mostly about colors. genetically though all of our DNA is made of the same stuff.

i think what people mean by there is no race, is that being blackor asian or whatever doesnt really make a difference . like neither are different in any performance based thing. its like if you had an amd chip and an intel one that were basically the same pefromance and didnt know which was which wouldnt know unless you looked at the label. but the label doesnt do anything.
