Arguing with bro in law last night. He says it's OK. I'm firmly in the camp that you finish your call before you pinch a loaf. It's just wrong.....

Only if you're talking to a very, very close friend. And preferably only when peeing.

I will not answer my phone when I am "dropping the kids off at the pool". I know I wouldn't want to talk to anyone doing the same, and I have no desire to share the experience with anyone else.

I have to echo these two wise sages. There is no reason to be on the fscking phone in a bathroom. Let alone a public one. WTF is so important that it can't wait 2 minutes while you finish your tinkle and wash your hands?

cellphone in the loo is so totally not ok, i'm amazed anyone even has to ask. when i'm taking a leak, or sitting on the throne, do i really want to hear some fool booming away on his phone next me? and he will be booming, because everybody talks louder when they are on the phone. being on the other end of the line is even worse - do i really want to hear the toilet flushing, and other sounds i won't mention, when i'm talking on the phone to someone? no, i don't. what the heck is wrong with people that they think they are so important that they can't give the rest of us a break from their brilliance even when they go poo?!

and this point is key - if you've got a hand on the phone, you can't very well wash, can you? and if you switch hands ... well, i don't want to get within a million miles of that phone!!!

What they don't know won't offend them.

When I was in college my then-girlfriend-now-wife always knew when I was talking to her in the bathroom because of the echos. But I guess that's less of an issue in a home.

Sometimes you get caught out during a long call and you just have to lay cable.

I think that if you find that this is a common occurance, you need to reevaluate your time management or be treated for some sort of communication dependency.
