celica gts vs. sentra spec v

Taken from the psteng's muffler thread... i think this deserves its own thread.. and that way psteng cna have his thread back. so what do you all think?

who would win in a race

soo.. it would be pretty close.. not to mention the spec v has the added traction of the huge tires on the 17" wheels. (celica only sporting 16 inchers)

personally, i think the spec V would destroy the celica-- but i might be a little biased.

My god that's sad ass torque for the celica. It is lighter though and its horsepower is the same so I don't think the sentra would destroy it - 180 isn't really enough that traction is a major concern anyway and the celica isn't on bicycle wheels.

that said I'd take the sentra. Is it cheaper? It sure as hell isn't as faggy looking.

Put the Celica in some tight curves and keep it on the second cam and look out. That thing will scream.. They are so much fun to drive.

4 doors--- which means a real back seat. (which is nice-- trust me, it comes in handy) and with the rear seat folded down thats a lot more cargo space.

I had a GTS so I am a little biased Honestly I loved driving that car just a little too much.

i know what you mean--- i've only had this car since last weds.. not even an entire week yet and im already pushing 700 miles on it.. i'm pretty sure i'll hit 1k on the odometer before the car even gets 1 week old. i love driving it.

According to numbers from Car and Driver, the Sentra Spec V is just slightly faster. However, it should be noted that the two cars were tested at two different times and the Sentra was a 2001 and the Celica was a 2000.

0-100 - 20.1s
1/4 mile - 15.7s @ 90mph
70-0 - 177ft

Celica
0-60 - 7.5s
0-100 - 20.3s
1/4 mile - 16.0s @88mph
70-0 - 166ft
