Actually it has only been a little over 2 years.....close to 2 1/2. What really scared me this week was when I went to BB to pick up another 100 pk of Fujis on sale......and they were not TYs!!!!!!!!!! I had to stop by a different BB yesterday to grab some TYs. If this becomes the norm then where the hell are we going to find TYs?

I still have 2.5 spindles left roughly 175 CDR's

No OMax in my area so I don't get their ads; that's why I didn't include them.

What is Fuji using other than TY's? Better not be CMC! I'm going to pick up the spindle of TDK's at Staples, i'm gonna let you guys know what i get.

The "Audiobahn" discs are shown to be manufactured by "Prodisc."

I think CC is blowing these out because they are mislabeled as 800MB discs when they are in reality 700MB discs (there is a label on the plastic covering to that effect).

TDK has been using CMC for the past couple years, and now Ritek is starting to show up.
The newer Taiyo Yuden 100-packs (not the 2x50 packs) are Ritek.
Imation has used CMC exclusively for quite a while. The last Made in Japan and Made in USA discs I got from Imation were many years back.

CMC is crap. Ritek is excellent. TY is one of the best. This is based off of my own C1/C2 error testing, and appears to be the general concensus in CD-R forums.

The unfortunate thing about the Audiobahns is that they have a stupid silkscreened label across the top 1/3 of the disc.

For some reason with Riteks when burned over 16x with my Plex 48x, my Apex dvd player doesn't like them, but audio burned at 48x it reads fine!

I've never had good results with Riteks, and I also use Plextor drives. In fact, CMC have by far been more reliable in reading data that has already been recorded. Whenever someone gives me a Ritek CDR, I need to reduce the read speed to no greater than 8x.
