Cat got locked in room for 5 days :(

it's been 12 years. Pretty sure that cat is dead by now.

This is totally something that would happen to my cat, she's not the brightest sometimes. She'll sneak in a room as I close the door without me noticing. Many times do I come home from work only to find out she's been stuck in the bathroom or something the whole time because she snuck in there as I was closing all door on my way out of the house. You'd think she'd learn at this point.

Ignoring the fact this is a huge necro: as a rule if you are going for 5 days you should probably pay the neighbors kid twenty bucks to go into your house and actually check on the cats.
If you dont trust the neighbors kid then take your cats to a place where they will be looked after. A vets office, animal hospital, animal babysitter, or a trusted friend.

^ yeah I know you guys love your pets but letting it out to wander the streets for days and come/go whenever it wants... letting it roam around the house completely independently of your attention. To leave for 5 days and not worry about it like a kid. I just don't understand cat owners... what's the appeal?

people dont always want cats in every room of their house, at least not when they are around. Cats like to claw, and smack.

Why do you close all the doors in your house when you go out?

My cat pukes a lot. Minimizes the amount of ground she can cover with puke if all the rooms are closed. Especially bedroom. There is nothing worse than going to bed and realize there's puke in the bed.
