Aight characteristics that i wish for.

1. must be active
2. must be potty trained, obviously for some that wont be possible
3. lower maintanence the better
4. must be able to live for some time
5. must be cute and cuddly to attract Hjezzles (hot girls)

my lifestyle: in grad school so most of the day ill be out, i plan on getting a auto feeder for the animal of choice.

my new house will have a fence so a dog could be kept outside.

anything else important????

UPDATE:
cat looks like a good choice now based on everyone's responses

now some more questions:

1. Should i get a kitten, even if i dont have time to play with it will it be cool in the house by itself?
2. Should i get a pound cat, like a stray one?
3. Should i get it declawed?
4. Should i get two cats or is one gonna be fine by itself?

aight thanks guys, this helps a lot.

i really want a dog but i dont want to just abandon it so i think a cat will be cool for now.

UPDATE:
MADE A CHOICE, i will be getting a cat. easiest to maintain. will be heading to the pound this weekend. ill take pics when i get it.

gone for most of they day huh? I guess you could leave a dog home but a cat is more happy to be solitary.

Girls don't like turtles and guniea pigs are rodents.

Fish are straight pimp if you have a nice tank, although to me they are more decoration than pets.

yah i thought about fish but like i would want to get a salt water tank and that would be horrible to upkeep, are there any freshwater fish that are nice and colorful?

I'd say fish or cat, since they are low maintenance. If you want cute and cuddly and lives a long time, go with the cat.
If you're out most of the day, don't get a dog. They usually require a lot of attention. It sucks to just leave them alone outside without interaction.
Turtle and guniea pigs smell.

a kitten/cat might scratch up furniture

the only thing it will do to electronics is sleep on them

Cat sounds like the best option for you. Maybe two to keep each other company. Virtually no maintenence if they are indoor cats and they either se a scratching post or are declawed.

I vote for Tarantula. It may not attract all the girls but it will do a good job weeding those out that are wussy. Mine is farily active and VERY low maintenence. I have to change the cage substrate every 6 months. Crickets are ~$1 for a dozen and she only eats 1-2 a week MAX, sometimes goes 2-3 months without eating. Also, they can live 10-20 years on average, mine should be around another 12 years at least

yeah, i would advise against getting a dog if you're going to be gone most of the day. its not really fair to the animal.. seriously. cats definitely survive better in that environment. plus lots of chicks dig cats.. make sure you dont just get any cat though.. if you're going to get one, make sure its cool and not an anus. nothing sucks more than stupid snobby cats.. you know the ones i'm talking about.. the ones that stare at you for five minutes when you open the door for them to go outside. the ones who just look at you when you call them over.. and they start walk towards you.. then lose interest mid stride.. stupid cats.. but yeah.. get a short haired cat, that way you wont have as many hairballs or fur to clean up and get off your pants when the chiksas come over.

OMG turtle! they live for like 45 years. if you get water turtles you just need to swap out tank water ever few weeks, and scrub the tank every few months! they are active and very cute, but not cuddly. if i am any indication, turtles DO NOT help you get chicks.

wrong, you have no idea how many girls fall in love with mr push push. he is always in smile mode.

turtles kick ass, just buy goldfish and throw them in there once ever few weeks and he will be happy. if you get red ear sliders get at least more than one so they won't be lonely.

i have a 35 gallon tank with two filters, i clean it once every 6 months and it doesn't smell one bit. it takes 1 minute to spray the filter off and throw it back in.

Guinea pigs...well...they eat, sleep, poop, and thats it. and then you clean the cage. Not worth it.
Dogs, you have to potty train, but if you get the right kinda dog, you can get chicks ;)
Cats...most chicks like them...they aren't friendly usually
Turtles just sit there, like fish but are easy to take care of

I vote that you get a hamburger.
