3.5's did something to my system. My HD performance went WAY down. Even after removing the driver w/ Driver CLeaner, still the same issue. I need to do a fresh install of my OS (waiting on my new HD), that'll give some time to see if I want the 3.6 or the 3.4.

Anyone have problems with Rainbox Six: Raven Shield? I get periodic flashes in my gameplay with my Radeon 9700 Pro, WinXP, 16x12x32-bit color, 2x AA 8X Aniso. I will try Cat 3.6 tonight.

I noticed they list SmartGART Uninstaller as a program for download in the Cat 3.6 drivers section (yes, I see it been out since May, but this is the first time I've noticed it). Any reason why we would need/want to uninstall SmartGART?

I think it`s only worth uninstalling if you have stability issues,if everything is working fine then you can leave it installed,I did notice it puts fastwrites on by default(I`ve fastwrites disabled in bios) so I had do select disable and reboot,no big deal.

The Dets have been going a long while, and probably ages ago were not as good as they are now. ATi are at the beginning of their driver stage in a way, ie: constant updates and they'll probably do that until their drivers are good enough to not need it, but I doubt the Dets began life as perfect.

They lived true to their name though. I remember when they first came out and they practically doubled performance. The dets single handidly put Nvidia over the top, it's a shame Nvidia is in the position it is in now.

I do remember that day, that was huge on the forums...

Performance in Quake 3 went from about 75-80fps to about 130 which just the driver update...

3.6 mucked up my system. Lost the second monitor on my 8500LE. Or rather, I should say the second monitor works but only as a mirror now, not as a seperate monitor. It recognizes the card but as a mobile 9200?

would be interesting to do a comparison of drivers out when the cards are released and compared to drivers now, I mean when people check out old reviews they are usualy with the first drivers out and it doesnt reflect current performance.

Yup, followed the directions for Driver Clean 1.9 (?) word for word.

I don't think there are any performance increases because the performance is where it should be..

But the stability isn't quite there yet

Its the luck of the draw, I have no probs with my Radeon 9700, with my old Nvidia GF2GTS card I had probs getting it to work properly.

Hmm, what's actually the latest version of the Nforce2 drivers and where to get them since the version on nvidia is older than 2.41.

I got mine at Driver Heaven. They really dont seem to boost performance or do anything special though.

Mine won't install. I got the Severe Error Message during install when trying to run the executable? This is the first time I have received this error message when upgrading drivers for my ATIs, and I have done this for a couple of years now. Anyone else having this issue?

Follow the install guide in Driver Cleaner 1.9 from here and see if that works ,I would also disable your anti-virus program while you install them.

Another fresh download of new drivers as well won`t do no harm,just incase yours are corrupted.

Yes, I remember they released 2.41 again without the IDE driver. I didn't download the new 2.41, I just removed the IDE driver...

Well back to the 3.6 Cats. They don't seem too Shabby for one of my Rigs (AMD 2500 Barton @2.1GHz with 9700 ATI AIW, the LCD looks better now as well and Yes I have the Patch installed.
