Case/Power Supply question...

I'm thinking about getting this case (which comes with a PS)

ASPIRE X-Dreamer II ATXB4KLW-BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 420W Power Supply - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811144026

But I keep hearing that the power supplies that come with cases usually suck. Would it be safe to get this case now and see how the power supply works out? Will there be any real danger to my system if I let it run for a while with PS? Because I'd rather not drop $50 on a PS if the one that comes with it will work fine...

Rosewill TU-155 Black Steel/Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 400W Power Supply - Retail

This is also a very high rated one. I'm not going to be doing a lot of overclocking or anything like that, so is the included power supply good enough for me?

I mean, could it screw up my entire system if the power supply was somehow faulty? Why would I not just keep this psu?

you could possible take out your motherboard and CPU(or more) with a bad PSU, why chance it...spend the extra $50 and get something good.

The PSU that comes with the case is generic, you would be much safer and better off to get a brand name PSU, enermax, fortron, antec, seasonic etc.. a 350w of any of those is superior to the 420w that comes with the case.

I really wanted to cheap out and not buy a good power supply, but was convinced otherwise. Think of it this way...yeah, maybe the one that comes with the case will work, but why not just get a quality one for insurance? If you didn't already place your order, you could rearrange some things (drop to Athlon 3000, cheaper motherboard) to make up the difference and get a better power supply. Also, if you've got the money to be building a comp. in the first place, is an extra 70 dollars really going to break the bank?

I'm currently using this one to run an Asus w/ a 3200+ 754, a pr of Infinity 512 dimms, a 9500pro, 2 DVD burners, and a pair of 160gb harddrives. No issues with the stock retail sl350 it comes with. :)

OK, well what do you guys think about the case? Because I could get the case and an extra PSU, and I'll have the generic PSU just for a backup. It sounds like a solid case with great reviews.

Also, can someone link me to a good PSU for around $50?

Hmmm, this is a tough one. I think I just might chance it and go with the PS included with the case.

the cases you linked are all coming with a seriously generic psu ..the antec I linked the psu by itself is $53ish shipped but a single fan which the 120mm exhaust on the case rectifies ;)

I know nothing of these parts other than the specs listed, and they are not mentioned as being a reputable company in UsAndThem's guide...but based on +12V rail specs alone theres:
One
Two
Three
Four

that claim to have decent +12V rails. I'd like to stress that they are not widely respected companies and I've never used any of them.

So do you think 350 watts is all I need?

That looks like a good PS and I personally like the look of the case, but I wouldn't hook up the front LED's. The Antec you listed is the same one that I just bought and have seen listed in quite a few threads. The Antec might have a little bit better construction, but it only has one stock fan.

OMG bluedeviltron 1 POST AT A TIME PLEASE! That's like what, TRIPLE POSTING?! THERE'S AN EDIT BUTTON YOU KNOW! Anyways, that Rosewill case is crap. I mean, come on, it looks like it'll fall apart in like 2 days. Never buy a case with plastic. And go with the XClio 450W PSU with dual +12V rails @ Newegg for about $50.

you get what you pay for. cases that are cheap and come with psu's have bs ratings. 420watts? at what? 20c? go to silentpcreview.com and read the reccomendation section. antec cases generally come with decent psu's though..and thats the cheapest way to go..quality bundled antec case and cpu. you can buy better, but it will certainly cost more.

OK, so is 350 watts all I need? I think I'm just gonna get that Antec 350 watt one for $46. But does it have the dual 12 rails or whatever?

350 watts...is that enough power for my system? I'm going to go with the
Antec Solution SLK3000-B Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail case.

Is it worth paying $40 more for the 430 watt version power supply, or is 350 enough?
