I hear people say that they don't carry cash because they could get mugged... but isn't it better to have cash for when you're mugged? Having nothing might piss the mugger off causing you to be shot/st@bbed...

I think I've figured out a way to avoid being robbed. Grow your hair like Red Dawn and wear a red bandana (like the avatar), and carry a pocketknife. When approached by a mugger, flip out the knife and wave it around saying in a quiet voice "You know I'm loco esse... you know I'm craaazy" (also like Red Dawn). How can that not work?

Don't forget to spill some mustard and ketchup on your overly bleached jeans.

i try not to carry to much cash. i have a habit of loseing my wallet.

I usually carry around $20-50. sometimes less.

where i live the fear of getting mugged is low. unless i do something silly like go out at night and walk around the college.

That's what slide clips are for :)

Looks like a money clip, can even have money on it.

Kel-Tek is the only one out there I know of that's easy to use. Just attach the clip to the side of the slide.

FWIW, one of my mother's old employer's brother was killed because of this. He had a flat or something like that in a bad part of town. IIRC 2 guys and 1 woman helped him change it. After finished basically turned into a how much you want for fixing it/how much you have situation. Think he had like $20, they decided it wasn't enough and killed him. Woman eventually ratted on them and believe the 2 guys are serving life.

So what are you going to do, carry a lot of money just so you don't get killed? Meh, go out fighting at least.

I keep at least a 20 spot on me at all times. The idea of not being able to afford a tank of gas and a meal causes great uncertainty and fear in my life.

it is reccommended that you carry some cash ($20 max), because when that mugger sneaks up from behind you and puts a knife at your neck, he will want to walk off with something...

whats more valuable, your money or your life?

most of the time I have somewhere between 5-50 bucks. Hardly anymore than that. Sometimes I wont have any money with me at all. I don't spend money everday, so I don't always need it.

i usually carry about 5 in my wallet, 20 in my pocket, along with cc's and that stuffs... not really scared of getting mugged, but if it happens, go ahead and take my stuff... it's not THAT much, and if i'm in a fight with a guy with a knife, i don't think i'll be in as good of shape if i were in a fight with a guy barehanded...

On campus I never carry any cash around. When I go out I only have about $40 on me. I charge most of the time.

Only carry about $20 bucks most of the time. It's just more convenient for me to use my debit card everywhere.

i usually carry cash because the bars claim theres a $10 credit minimum... well, when its $1 bottles, i'm usually not spending $10. plus i don't have to wait for them. only place its convenient to card when its busy is logan's due to the presence of about 15 cocktail waitresses (all cute and flirty and they remember who you are... or maybe i'm just there too often)

Now if everyone who has more than 20 on them right now would put down their address and if they are afraid of big men with knives, that would be greeeat.

I usually don't have any cash whatsoever on me. I'm not a poor college student either. I only use gas stations where I can use a car. I always go home for lunch. I buy groceries with a card. And I'd be a lot more wealthy if it AT Hot Deals didn't exist :(

I always carry at least $200-300 on me. The government and my bank[it's amazing how much data they have on your spending habits] don't have anyright to know where my money is being spent and I'm not giving my bank anymore service fees than I have to. Funny this is cash is becoming harder to spend. I went to buy clothes with my GF and the lady at the register of this store had never done a cash transaction. I asked her how long she had been there and she said 2.5 months. Just weird how quickly debit cards and credit have supplanted cash money as the primary forms of payment. As for the stabbing and shooting, I live in Canada and the violence up here isn't that big of an issue.

Scope!
