Hey I'll take it, right now it's a non stop affair...so..

Just imagine all of the talking points he will accumulate throughout that week, with all those salt of the earth seamen types.

I wonder how many threads he will start on his first days off?

So you're saying TH will finally get to realize his life long dream of being up close and personal with other seamen?????

:D

That's what happens when you're doing a tug job right?

:D So, let's say TH gets hazed a bit.. And they take the fire hose and spray him with it, is it safe to say that TH got sprayed down by a bunch of seamen? I'm sure he'd enjoy that though...

Only TH could work an inland tug and still get soaked by seaman.

Yeah I can only image how fierce the seamen will get after they've all been tugging for 7 days straight.

The seamen will be fierce after 7 days indeed, but remember that the seamen will begin flowing on the boat the very first day.

TH will be dealing with tremendous amounts of seamen.

Tuesday evening I heard a company was hiring. I called the first thing wednesday morning, they said they only accept in person applications.

I made up some BS excuse to take off from my job, drove 2 hours to fill out an application and hand in resume. Was told thank you and the application would be given to personal department. Felt kinda disappointed after 2 hour drive one way.

Wrote a letter last night to the personal coordinator, going to mail it to several other companies friday or saturday.

The company my buddy works for might be hiring some more people soon. The last ones they hired had previous experience.

All kidding aside, good luck TH. Seems like a tough job, but is likely just what you need to be happier.

Thank you.

Comparing an office job to a physically demanding on your feet for 10+ hours a day job, I got much more satisfaction from a physically demanding job.

At the end of the day I could see what I did. I went home tired and slept well almost every night.

An office job offers very little satisfaction.

Good luck. I'm sort of jealous, but I wouldn't even do it at 37. I already did the manual labor thing installing and sanding hardwood floors.

Feeling really down.

Buddy of mine tried to pull some strings, company hired people with experience, which I can not be upset about that.

Started applying at other companies, got two emails saying I was not picked.

I have filled out online applications, emailed applications, mailed and emailed resume, called, updated linkin profile, updated monster.com profile,,,,, I do not know what else to do.
