Hey everyone, I bought an HP a month ago with the ASUS M2N78-LA motherboard. It only has onbaord graphics so I need to change that. Only problem is I haven't upgraded a video card in probably four years. Last time I did I bought an ATI Radeon 9800.

Now I see there is pci, pci express and then 1.0 and 2.0 versions of pci expressx16. My motherboard documentation says it supports PCI expressx16 but nothing about 1.0 or 2.0.

Can I put a 2.0 in and it will work? How do I know if it is 2.0 compliant? What is a good direct x 10 graphics card for under $200 that would be a great step up from onboard graphics? Thank you!

Oh, how would this new card stack up against a good olt Radeon 9800 pro? :)

Thank you, that helps on one question but the bigger one is how do I find out if my motherboard is pciexpress 1.0 or 2.0? All it says is PCI Express x16?

It's based on the GeForce 8200 chipset, so PCIe 2.0.
