What does everyone here think about a personal carbon credit set for each individual. You go over, you buy it, you dont use it, you can sell it. Never mind the implementation.
 
Carbon Credits seem kinda pointless unless they are for New Carbon Sinks. To just start Trading them based on current situations just maintains the already unsustainable situation we have.

Isnt carbon credit trading done by companies? It just an idea for the poor people who dont or cant utilize their carbon allowance. If scientists believe the earth is gonna be chaotic, shouldnt everyone be included?


 
My beef with carbon credits and junk like that is that it's just another way for people with money to feel good about themselves raping the environment to line their pockets. I get the basic idea of carbon credits, but the idea is completely bunk because NOTHING and I mean NOTHING we do with our current fuel and waste situation will offset crap we are pumping into the air. It's just one big publicity stunt for the rich by the rich. There is no way that it's completely non-profit. Someone is banking off of it in the end.

Let's hope that money can stop your insides from turning crispy when the radiation soaked up from the sun gives us hell on earth.

Are you a cop or do you just like the icon? This planet is your as much as anyone else. Why should they be able to pollute the air you breath or I breath. Who do these people think they are?
 
Carbon Credits throw a blanket over awareness of hydrocarbon depletion.

If you're aware enough to purchase carbon credits you're aware enough that you need to change your lifestyle.

If you hedge and buy more credtis than you need to offset your footprint then you're being immoral.

Carbon credits can already be traded and I have seen a few securitizations with CDOs of future flows of carbon credits. It's not a mature market yet but it's developing extremely fast.
