There ya go. New fancy cars = lots of insurance. Old perfectly fine cars like my '91 Camry, cost like $500 a YEAR for all the coverage needed. Only way I don't get any money is if I cause an accident, otherwise I get a new beater car 🙂

Oh man does that mean I can pay less when the car becomes old?

Mine's $560/6 months and I live on the Bronx/Westchester line, in Westchester. I have a 2004 Mazda3 S and Geico.

2004 Saturn Ion Redline, full coverage... $280/6 months. Insurance is more a function of your age, credit, marital status, and driving history.

I could raise my rates by at least 115% by switching to GEICO. They're expensive for good drivers.

i don't know about you, but geico is cheaper than anything else here in NYC (for us) and we both have perfect driving records.

That's what we do. I work in Westchester and my girlfriend takes the train into town. The Metro North is actually faster compared to her old train line from Queens.

NYC is 2nd only to NJ unfortunately.

I was so happy when I got into NJ Manufacturer's Insurance... Before my insurance was $2400/yr for just my Civic. Now my wife and I pay $1800/year for both of us on her Passat and my Civic (both '03). 🙂
