Mine's $560/6 months and I live on the Bronx/Westchester line, in Westchester. I have a 2004 Mazda3 S and Geico.

WOW! Unbelieveable! you know what, I am planning to move to Bronx/Parkchester, my office is in Westchester, but my wife has to take subway everyday to Manhattan.

That's what we do. I work in Westchester and my girlfriend takes the train into town. The Metro North is actually faster compared to her old train line from Queens.

i work in westchester, and my husband takes the metro north to his office in chelsea. 🙂

Definately better living in Westchester than Parkchester. But still better to live in Manhattan.

i think you misread what i said. i don't live in westchester. i live in the bronx, not very far north of manhattan.

i lived in manhattan for 6 years (in multiple locations, all of which were convenient and were in residences that provided the amenities i had looked for when seeking housing). while i appreciate the lifestyle there, i'm in a more "suburban" area of the bronx. now i get the best of both the city and the "country" -- there's a beautiful view of the palisades and the hudson outside my window, and i'm very close to the real city.

i'm much happier here than i was in noisy smelly manhattan. that's not to say i won't live there again, but for now, i'm satisfied where i am.

Reason to visit but live there.

Heck I pay $500 a year full coverage state farm too!

'94 honda accord 🙂

$1200/6mo liability only on my 1989 Turbovan. Sad thing is that my insurance co has caught on to the fact that this is a performance model. If I had the V6 version, it would be $500/6mo.

There ya go. New fancy cars = lots of insurance. Old perfectly fine cars like my '91 Camry, cost like $500 a YEAR for all the coverage needed. Only way I don't get any money is if I cause an accident, otherwise I get a new beater car 🙂

2004 Saturn Ion Redline, full coverage... $280/6 months. Insurance is more a function of your age, credit, marital status, and driving history.

not just clean driving history, but insurance history, right?

but clean driving history...or that is, a record that is blank of incidents... is more worthy than a record of having purchased insurance.

$1200/6 months sounds reasonable... I assume you're young since you're apparantly unfamiliar with insurance rates in your area. If you're not young, then that's a bit high.

Thats what they wanted for my 02 neon in queens, just liability, with zero driving exp, 24 yrs old.

Unitrin offered me $2400 a year, so I took it. I moved out to LI, and my rate dropped to $1400 a year.

It will likely be under $1000 after a year.

NYC is that bloody expensive, but you will find a good deal if you shop around.

New Jersey Manufacturers rules. I pay 1200/year for 2 cars with collision on both. On top of that I get a 15% rebate every year. I thank God for them, I couldn't afford Allstate anymore.
