Car fires near where we live? Need advice.

So recently there was a car set on fire on the side of i285 in front of everybody.
This morning another one was set next ablaze in the same manner, very deliberately, in the apartment complex next to us.

We don't live in the best part of town. There is graffiti on most of the roadsigns around where we live. Usually "M13". What is this? What does it mean?
I am wondering if we should move away somewhere else, or maybe for various reasons I shouldn't worry about it because it doesn't concern me?

Are your parents as concerned as you are?
If not, ask if they will send you to live with your Auntie & Uncle in Bel-Air!

way to keep the thread fresh

cop didn't know anything about it. Said it wasn't very common. We shall see. It was several months ago that I saw the car on fire on i285.
Cop also said they were sending an investigator. Yeah right, they towed the burned car away ASAP.
Trees above it were singed.

I wouldn't put up with that for a second. I honestly can't believe that you're asking this on ATOT.

"There's gang graffiti and random car fires near my house, what should I do?" is synonymous with "I just shit a gallon and a half of blood and vomit every time I eat, should I go to the doctor?"

yes but I'm not mexican. It's just for them right? I'm actually kinda serious about this.

We had that happen in my area a couple of years ago. In that case it was just some kids doing it for fun, so it died down after a couple of months. It may look dramatic, but setting a car on fire isn't very hard.

There are still a couple of car fires every summer, but it's usually just abandoned cars and stuff.

Do some research first. Find out how bad the problem really is. Talk to the police and see how bad it is. I'd stop an officer that patrols the area regularly and ask him. If you find out there is a good amount of gang activity then next you need to move IMO.
You'll have to find out what your house is worth and if you can take that loss or at best even make a little. Also remember the desirable neighborhoods haven't really lost much value and in some cases have even appreciated.
I was in the same boat. I noticed a lot of the young people around my neighborhood were wearing all red, houses were being broken into, a truck on my same street had been stolen, and I even had an officer tell us that I lived in a rough area. It shocked me because I guess I just basically stuck my head in the sand for so long.
Long story short we ended up selling the house and moved into a much nicer neighborhood. I can't tell you how nice it is to actually come home now and not worry about all the bs.
Good luck on whatever you decide.

Umm...not sure if you're aware, BUT THAT'S NOT NORMAL.

You can't outrun gangbangers, they are everywhere....

I don't agree with this. If you're living somewhere that's a shithole you should move. Like I said earlier my last neighborhood was like this. People didn't even go outside their homes because it was such an ugly environment. Now I live in a nice quiet neighborhood where the biggest troublemakers are the squirrels that throw bird feed around and a woodpecker that's taken over one of my 40 year+ oak trees. Not bragging it's just so nice and I encourage anyone to move from a bad neighborhood if you can.

Should you move? 😵 Get in your car and start driving. As fast as you can. :ninja:

Two young guys without families then I wouldn't even worry about it. If I was alone I'd take brainhulks advice and dress like a juggalo.

I don't understand, why would not having a family make a difference? No children to kidnap?

IE, are we at a greater risk for being robbed, car broken in to, etc. What would a gangs interest be?
