Car Audio: is there a 1.5 DIN MP3/CD player available?

The person who created the 1.5din should be shot and beaten - what a stupid idea. And it would just be better to get a single din with an adapter

Yes, they do.

The main drawback to 1.5DIN stereos is that very few (if any) are available with detachable faces. So you have this flashy "fish-finder" deck, and you can't remove the face! 😕 Basically, the 1.5DIN decks are open season for thieves.

Only theives who also stole GM's 😀

those HU are 1.5 DIN, but none are mp3 players. I think it looks better when the stereo fits perfectly rather than an adapter. I had a DEH P47DH in my old car, it was 1.5 and had a detachable face. In fact, the faceplate was exactly the size of a 1 DIN, the cd feeder took the other half.
