Capitol Police arrest Cindy Sheehan

She was an invited guest. Supposedly she was trying to bring in a banner, so they are detaining her for an hour or so to keep her from creating a disruption. They don't have a basis to hold her (she's not accused of a crime), so they will presumably release her after the speech.

OK, that was just stupid on her part. You know goodness well that the cameras would have been ALL OVER HER during the address if she were in the audience -- it would have been perfect. But she just had to make a statement and thus she got kicked out.

To tell you the truth, I sympathize with the woman, but she just blew it.

Some people grieve for their loss in private. Some grieve in public.

Sheehan's public outcry brought more attention to troops being killed in Iraq and what was being done to bring them home.

I don't see anything wrong with that. It's her right to speech. I don't blame Cindy for her exposure...blame the media for focusing so much attention on her. If the media didn't focus so much on her, she would have packed up and left a long time ago.

I know that if I lost a loved one in Iraq, I'd want answers too. I'm not so sure that I'd go the route of Sheehan, but I won't fault her either.
