Since your mobo isn't set-up for O/C'ing and phyically altering your CPU's bridges can be risky and leave you with a dead CPU, I would suggest you just connect the L7 bridges which is explained Here to up the core voltage and use a utility likeCPUcool to overclock from the FSB.

to do what your talking about you will have to alter L6, L4, and L3 bridges, it takes some work and a steady hand (especially helps if you have the right tools)

here is a link showing you what you need to do. link

You could buy a adapter from plycon so you can change the multiplier once you have unlocked the processor. Cutting the bridges isnt a easy way of changeing the multiplier one slip and its all gone.

what proccessor are you using. If it is a normal Tbird not XP and is 1200MHz or higher then the chip is probably factory unlocked.

since you're using t'bird, all you need is a pencil and just connect the bridges according and you should be able to overclock the sucker... welcome to the world of 'pencil oc' !! (sadly, with the new xp/mp cpus this is all a thing of the past... :( )

um i think spikegifted is just refering to unlocking a cpu.

to actually change the default value of the cpu... you will either need a mobo that supports multiplier adjustment, or you will need to change the L6, L3, L4 bridges by cutting and connecting the appropriate ones (the link above shows which bridges those are)

a thrid options is a little adapter ive seen, it goes in socketA socket, and then the cpu mounts on it... it has little jumpers on it that you can change to set your default multiplier at what ever you want..... the problem is the price, it costs about $30, for that price you may as well get a new mobo :)
