Intel D865PERL motherboard.
I tried updating the BIOS for the first time and the new copy is around a year newer then my current BIOS. Now when it rebooted it made three beeps with a little space and the beeps got louder it did this twice I think, when it booted up it was asking for a boot disk. I checked the BIOS and it could only find my CD-ROM so I couldnt boot into windows then I had to swop my IDE cables over so the HDD would work but the CD-ROM wouldnt (only 1 cable worked) but when I got into windows the CD-ROM would work but it doesnt when the PC boots up, after alot of messing around with only one IDE cable working I downloaded some older BIOS updates and the same thing happened, so its a good job I remembered the BIOS copy I had and that worked.
The beeps werent the same as the BIOS updates that didnt work so it was trying to tell me something but why cant I update it.
