I love meat.

And I love pissing off vegetarians by eating meat.

I'm a vegetarian and have been since I was six.
It doesn't piss me off when people eat meat, as long as they don't shove it in my face or be obnoxious about eating it. I eat what I want to eat, they eat what they want and we don't try to convince each other to change. Fine with me.

This is exactly how I feel about it. I don't eat meat, and it's usually a non factor except for when people try to make a deal out of not eating eat. I keep my trap shut until someone argues with me about it. I'm not sure why it bothers other that I don't eat meat

Because it's a fad. Somehow it has become "cool" to be vegetarian. And the people who are vegetarian because they feel sorry for the animals are just silly. Humans are omnivores by nature... always have been, always will be.

The only reason I can think of that I can respect someone's decision to be vegetarian is to avoid all the unnatural additives that end up in meat like growth hormones... in which case, they should look for "organic meat" instead of avoiding meat completely.

Yes, I am sure that everyone choosing to become a vegetarian makes this life decision to appear "cool." Humans are omnivores by nature. I agree, although I do believe that when we have to cook meat in order to digest it, it implies that those meats probably were not meant to be processed by us. We go against many things that nature tells us to do. This is what makes us civilized. I have made the decision to stop eating meat because I do not agree with the way the meat industry treats the animals it slaughters. I also know that I could never kill an animal. I feel like if you can't kill your own meat, you probably don't deserve to eat it. So I have become a vegetarian. Why does it bother you so much?

Where did you get that idea? Links... titles of books... anything to back that up? I know lots of people who eat raw meat and don't poop meaty pink turds... at least not to my knowledge.

Have you ever heard of the dangers of undercooking certain meats? Perhaps if eaten right away before bacteria can grow, it is fine. Most foodborne illnesses come from raw meats and the bacterias that grow on them.
I thought I remembered reading somewhere that our bodies cannot process raw meats well. Though, admittedly, if it was from some pro-vegetarian source, the ideas are probably skewed. I'll look into this. Anyone?

Of course... but what does that have to do with having to cook meat to digest it? Bacteria has NOTHING to do with the ability to digest the meat. You're talking about having to cook meat to avoid contaminated meat. You can go bonk a cow on the head and eat every chunk of meat you can find on it and not have a problem if the cow wasn't diseased.

Right and I just said that if eaten right away, it is probably fine. Did you read MY post?

*EDIT* And if you actually think I assume every vegetarian is a vegetarian because it's a fad, you either didn't read my post, or you're trying to put words in my mouth to make your point.

I think the confusion lies in the fact that I read your post, not the one before it. You started by saying "It's [vegetarianism's] a fad," making it seem like that is your opinion. I understand now, though, you were responding to Jman wondering why "others" are bothered by the fact that he doesn't eat meat. My mistake, though you should probably clarify what is your opinion, considering you also think vegetarianism is "silly" if they feel bad for the animals.

That is my opinion. I think the fad is silly, and I think the reason that it's cruel to the animal is silly. If the lack of natural meat with no growth hormones is your reasoning, I can understand that.

Right... you clarified after I responded. ;)
