I hate having to work day shifts because for that. I can never fall asleep this early, and getting up early is always a bitch. It's easier to stay up till 7am than it is to get up at that time.
Melatonin helps a bit I find. The instant I start feeling a glimpse of tiredness I go straight to bed without procrastinating before it wears off. When the alarm goes off the next morning I find I'm slightly less tired as well.
Booze DOES help a lot, but I don't want to make that a habit so I try to avoid it.
