Cant Print to one printer

Hi all. I have a user that for some reason cant print to a certain printer on our network. He can print to every other printer without any problem but not to this one. The printers security is set to allow everyone. When I log in as an admin on his workstation I cant print either so the problem seems to be related to the pc itself. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your help.
 
I have uninstalled/reinstalled but that did not help.

The error message reads "Windows cannot print due to current printer setup.
 
What applications have trouble from this computer?

Can he get the printer to do anything from his system, anything at all?
 
Hes not running any troublesome programs. All his apps are standard for our image. Hes printing fine to every other printer except this one. I can ping the printer fine which just confuses me more since i cant even get a test page to print. Somebody suggested adding the printer name and IP to the pc's host file. Any thoughts on that?
 
shouldn't be necessary to put it in the hosts file - is it definitely using the same driver for that printer as the other 5100's?
