i deleted the contents of flash when prompted by the router before copying the image. i used sh flash to confirm that there were 8mb free.
problem. the current version of ios that the 2610 is running is 11.3 and it does not support squeezing. i tried squeeze, sqash, twist, rinse&dry but nothing. sqeeze is an unrecognised command and for erase the options are /all, flash, etc....Originally posted by: spidey07

some flash devices need to be "squeezed" before you can use the deleted space. The flash gets fragmented when the file is deleted leaving no free space. search for squeeze on www.cisco.com.
are you sure??? how did you find out. please tell me because i don't want to spend money on upgrades. at the moment the 2610 has 8mb of flash and 32mb of ramOriginally posted by: melthemoose

Agree with Spidey. Taht image is too big for your router. Might get by with a 12.2.
Better yet, upgrade to an 18XX or even 28XX router. Outstanding product. I'm getting ready to deploy 6 28XX later this year.
