MemnochtheDevil - Yes the deal is still available, but the Canon A40 is no longer on OfficeMax.com you'll need to either call in your order or print out the coupon and bring it to your local OM B&M. I did the latter and they accepted the coupon no problems or questions asked.

It's a $50 off $250 coupon, not $40 off $250 and it is on FW search for max it should be one of the first few threads.

Got my camera on Monday. They didn't include the 64MB card, as promised by the CSR I called last week. Called to complain, but all they could tell me was that they're sorry and that the card would be shipped later. They couldn't even give me a ship date. What's up with that?

I only had to wait 1 week because I bought my Canon A40 locally at OM B&M. The only downside is I didn't get to PM against a website saving anywhere from $35 - $60 off the $249 price I paid.

MemnochtheDevil - Did you find the OfficeMax.com $50 off $250 coupons on FW using my simple instructions?

Regarding your PM both the Omaha, Nebraska and Portland, Oregon OfficeMax ads do show the FREE 64MB CF offer, here's step by step instructions:
Go to http://www.officemax.com/
Click In-Store Features in the lower right hand corner underneath Special Offers
Click Nebraska
Click Omaha
You should see a total of 14 pages of ads, the page you want is number 6 which is the 2nd row down, 3rd from the right, it's the only rectangular shaped ad in the 2nd row.
After clicking page 6, you will see 4 digicams, click on the digicams to enlarge the picture, the Canon PowerShot A40 for $299 is the one on the very far left.

Do you see it now?

Thanks for the instructions Rossman, I swear work is burning out my brain.... :( Yeah I found the coupon at FW, (was original looking at the main site not the forum).

I was getting to a completely different flyer by going through the store locator in customer service then clicking on see instore offers. There no matter what area I clicked I got a flyer with the panasonic, sony, and kodak camera offers. The main page link works fine, takes me right to the flyer you were talking about. I wonder if Office Max knows they have 2 online flyers or if some web people aren't talking.

I actually went into the local store last night to have a play and see if the camera felt good in my hand. I'm sold. I'll see if I have better luck with a csr today, last night didn't want to give me the coupon, finally agreed, then wouldn't believe me about the cf card. I've had better customer service episodes..

Thanks again Rossman for the great deal and for having the patience to point this poor confused soul through the wilderness to find it :)

MemnochtheDevil - Glad you found the coupon and the OM ad showing the FREE 64MB CF.

Here are two suggestions:
1) Call different OfficeMax stores near you before visiting. Explain to them that you have an OfficeMax.com $50 off $250 coupon which you wanted to use on a Canon PowerShot A40 but it's not available to order online. Knowing that it's NOT AVAILABLE to order online most OM employees will say that's ok we'll accept the coupon, if they say YES on the phone that they'll accept the printed coupon then get your name and go there immediately!

2) Before going to buy your digicam, print out the online OM ad showing the FREE 64MB CF offer if you have a black and white laser printer that would work the best. Also when you enter the store there should be a rack nearby with OfficeMax ads, pick one up, the offer should be in there ... if it isn't at least you have that print out.

Good luck and congrats!

OK, either the deal is dead or I'm blind. I went to the Nebraska/Omaha add and looked at the 2nd column, 3rd row (which is the one with camcorders and dig cams) and I'm seeing only Panasonic, Sony, and Olympus with the standard 64MB CF offer.

Anybody have a zip code that is showing these offers? I tried a couple from NJ, my own Cerritos, CA, and Omaha, Nebraska to no avail :(

Uh oh bad news, I just checked OfficeMax.com for Omaha, Nebraska and their ads have changed. You are correct the Canon A40 FREE 64MB CF is no longer listed. Sorry but it appears that the special is over, I will edit my thread title.

You snooze, you lose :(

Last week, the A40 was not listed in the ad on their website for the San Francisco area. However when I went to the store, it was in the ad in their circulars with the 64 MB CF. I don?t have today?s paper. So, I don?t know if the 64 MB CF is still being offered, but don?t rule it out until you check the circulars.

There are two $50 off $250 coupons currently available, one expires 8/26 and the other expires 12/31. Yes you can still PM although depending on the OM rep they may charge you the competitor's shipping. If they don't charge you shipping expect to get this for $190 otherwise it's around $225.

Even at $249 this is a great deal.

True...going to probably do the deal here in a few days. GF wants one. :)

On an unfortunate note...the website listed to price match off of is up to 252 for their price...so the best you can do is around 200 bucks....or more with shipping...anyway, going to jump on it.

LordThing - If you can get it for $200 after PM and coupon that would be an EXCELLENT price, that's $100 off retail.

Too bad you didn't buy 3 weeks ago when they were offering a FREE 128MB CF as well.

Done Deal - Finally!
I finally got the free 64MB CF card today. They shipped me a SanDisk (SDCFB-64-768) card instead of a Lexar card. Should I care? The SanDisk card has a 5-year warrranty. No speed rating.

PowerShot A40 & 64MB CF card for $232.66! :D

I got in on this deal. Used the $50 off $250 coupon and pricematched it to extremedigitalonline ($237). The total price of the camera was $210 ($225 after tax). I'm very happy with the camera.

Also, they gave me the 64MB Sandisk as well.

From what I've read on reviews the standard sandisk isn't as good as the lexar. If it's the higher performance sandisk (doubtful) it would be cool. I don't know that it makes that much difference anyway. It might speed up transfers and time between shots, but I wouldn't think it would be very noticable with a 2MP camera.

In that case I'm glad I got in on this deal 3 weeks ago when they were offering FREE Lexar 12x 128MB CF, that was smooooooooooooooooookin' hot!

Hi, I just got mine at b&m om today for $249. Sales guy came up with the camera and 3 64mb cf cards and got me all excited because I thought one was going to come with the camera. He checked the ad in the local om flyer and said it was his mistake.

So, I said I was sure it came with some cf card, either 64 or 128mb, he said that if I came in later with an ad showing the cf card he'd give me that. I'm in Milwaukee... can I use the Pittsburgh ad at my om? Is this a YMMV thing, or should it work?

Oh yeah, is there any chance in getting a pm at the store? I'm a bit confused about the process since I was late coming into the deal and it was already off the website so I didn't get a chance to look at the online price match thingy. Does om b&m pricematch with online stores is basically what I'm asking here.

Thanks ahead of time, and I love this camera.

OT:Check out the software, too!

This camera gets better the more you use it! After using this camera for a week, I decided to check out the various software that came with it. The one called RemoteCapture is really cool. It allows you to control most of the settings of your A40 from your computer, trigger the shutter with your keyboard or mouse, and store the image directly on your hard disk via the USB cable.

Another program, PhotoStitch, that works in conjunction with the stitch assist mode seems to do a pretty good job creating seamless panoramas from multiple images. Since I haven't shot any images using the stitch assist mode yet, I tested it with the sample images that came with the program and made this from 12 separate images.

Enjoy exploring all the features of your new camera AND software!

YOyoYOhowsDAjello - Unfortunately I believe the OM rep was correct in stating there is NO FREE CF offer this week. Last week OM's website mistakingly had the previous week's flyer on their website but they seemed to honor most orders. So unless you get an idiot, you're not gonna get a FREE 64MB or 128MB CF :(

You can PM but only against other local office stores, if you had bought online (which you couldn't because the A40 is out of stock) then you could have PM'd against another .com website.
