Hm now after seeing that PM successfully go through, I'm really tempted to jump on this!

Need a digital camera for a trip to Japan and Vietnam in two weeks. What to buy? Buy this? Yes no yes no yes no? My brain is going crazy.

Since that seems to have worked, I'm trying to get it to work for me with the C-3020 by PMing Staples.com. OfficeMax has it for $499.98, Staples for $399.90, but it's out of stock there. Final price with coupon and tax (if it works) will be $374.90. Best price on Pricegrabber.com with standard shipping is $405.95, and since they add in next day shipping for PM purposes I think this will give me the best price out there for this camera for next day delivery.

Well I caved in and ordered one. Unfortunately it came up as backordered for me, so my estimated ship date is June 14th. Hopefully it'll come before I have to leave for vacation. 🙁

Thanks for the post ub4me! I've been looking for a good camera at this price for a couple of weeks and everyone really seems to like this one. I followed the links provided by Caith and submitted my pricematch online, so hopefully I'll end up grabbing this puppy for less than $240 with tax. If I can somehow still score the 64MB card for it, this will be quite a steal. Thanks again, guys!

U R Welcome! 🙂

If I have found this deal two weeks ago, I wouldn't have bought a refurbished Olympus C-700 off the ebay for $330.

I picked up this cam with the $50 coupon 2 weeks ago. I must say that I love it. Great pics and decent video quality. Just got back from Vegas with it and boy was I impressed. Just some info for those looking to purchase.

I got one from 17th street photo in new york and I'm extremely happy with it thus far...

As far as PM'ing to a competitor, the OM on-line forms requires the compertitors next day shipping charges. The links to the two stores to PM have next day charges of 54.95 and 57.54. How did you get a shipping charge of only 18.95 added??? That's the ground shipping charge on one of the stores.Tthe other charges 27.54 for ground shipping. It seems like one slipped through the cracks and most of the CSR's that check this will discover the inflated next-day shipping so the savings will be nil. What do you guys think?

BKR, how much did you get it for there? (I'm in NY, and I'm going to be getting a second A40 for a friend (Well, I'm not paying, but I'm organizing it)...)
I remember seeing a website with an advertised price around 239 + shipping + tax that gave it's location as 17th street. May be easier just to go there if it's at a good price (Or try to PM it with another store that has some coupons available).

Ordered one as well, backordered, ship receiving date of June 17th...11 days...I sent the pricematch thing in as well.
looks like they got a shipment in...got an email saying mine will be shipped within 24 hours...

Why can't I order it? This is so weird...first when I went to the direct link page it would just bump me out to the home page. Then, I couldn't search for it, but I could browse to it, and the page said "product currently unavailable." Now I can't even browse to it!!! Its been removed from OfficeMax.com!!! What's going on?

Bleh.. Looks like this one may be dead then...
I have mine in hand, but was hoping to get another through this for a friend. Anyone have any deals for this camera from other stores?
Edit:
As to the shipping charges, I entered Not Shown on the form, as the pricing policy said that if they couldn't find ship price they'd add $5 by default. As to where they got the $16ish price, I think they searched for the place on Cnet shopper, and that's the price for shipping listed for the item there. I had noticed that, but had been hoping it would go through anyway, and I suppose I got lucky that they didn't check that one out more thoroughly.

Can't order it anymore. Not even for backorder. Harmony computers sells it for 265 shipped UPS ground. Might buy it from those guys. It's actually a couple dollars cheaper than the OM deal (around 270 for me with tax).

Eventually they're going to get this back in stock...
When that happens, harmony computers looks like a good place to PM this to.
Alternately (I'm not quite sure if this one will work though) find someplace to PM it to $275 (must be over 275 or the 50 off 250 won't work.) then apply a 25 off 100... The 50 of 250 should be automatically applied, then PM should bring it down to $200 + tax.
This will only work if the 25 off 100 and 50 off 250 stack (The 50 off 250 promotion didn't say that it wouldn't stack with regular promotional codes) and if the 25 off 200 isn't included in the PM. (Or if it is, just use both anyway and gety it for around 225 + tax and don't bother with the PM)

Will try this once they get it back in stock.

WOOHOO! PM Success!

This post isn't about the Powershot A40 (since I decided to go another route), but, well, you be the judge if it's a good deal. The bad news is Staples.com took off their listing for the C-3020 at $399.90, so no PM for me there. The good news is I sent another PM this morning after realizing this, and here are the results.

This is before the $50 off $250 that went through during checkout (I wonder if I could have stacked coupons now? drat). As far as I'm concerned, this is not a done deal until this thing is in my hands later today and I see the transactions on my credit card, but... wooooo!! Please guys, be discreet, let's not get Anita fired! 😉

Whew I got that 24 hour shipping confirmation notice too. I was beginning to worry that I might not get this before I leave for vacation and was starting to look for other deals.

Now if I can get my PM to come through. 😀

Well, at least we know who's doing all of our PMs 🙂

Still need one more A40 though... Hopefully, Omax will have it back in stock soon and I can justify Anita's salary with another PM! 😀

alright the deal on these is that they are out of stock are some stores where they ship from so instead they are shipping directly from the delivery center in TX via UPS ground :disgust: and I thought I was getting free Next Day delivery...dang...would've been useful for tomorrow, oh well.
