Corned beef hash is great. Corned beef in the can is fail.

negatory. if you eat it out of the can, you fail. you need to sautee some onions until they are carmelized, add some pepper and toss the corned beef into the mix. rice and corned beef = yummy goodness.

Are you Indian? The only people (including myself) that eat corned beef with rice are poor Indian people.

no, but i grew up po'. it was a staple in our household. i can still remember my mom standing by the stove frying up the onions and adding teh corned beef. man i miss her cooking.

Yeah, canned corned beef is pretty much Spam.

I wish. That's what I was hoping for. I like Spam better than real ham :^D

The corned beef was just too much by itself. Breaking it up, and mixing it down sounds like the way to go. I have it in the fridge, and I might cook it up with some rice tonight.

Every so often I get a can of it.
It tastes better at room temp, but its still to overpowering to eat much by itself.

Sorry, I don't watch much TV :^(
this has been posted a gazillion times...

Lisa : I'm going to become a vegetarian

Homer : Does that mean you're not going to eat any pork?

Lisa : Yes

Homer : Bacon?

Lisa : Yes Dad

Homer : Ham?

Lisa : Dad, all those meats come from the same animal!

Homer : Right Lisa, some wonderful, magical animal!

I do like the Simpsons, but I never make the time to watch on the web.

the typical canned corned beef found in american grocery stores is pretty crappy.

but, pick up a can of Palm or PureFoods brand corned beef from the asian aisle, or asian market and BAM, best quick meal ever. the asian styles are shredded inside the can - not a solid mass of processed meat.

i usually saute some onions and peppers, and then add the can of corned beef to it.

eat it with white rice and hot sauce
or, put it on a sandwich with hot sauce
or eat it with eggs and rice (and hot sauce) for breakfast.

I'm assuming we're talking about corned beef hash here? Make sure you fry it to an absolute crisp if you're using canned. Tastes way better. I'd also suggest frying an egg or two on top of it, and hot sauce certainly doesn't hurt.

No, it's canned corned beef, period.

It's the beef version of SPAM.
