Ok I created a Cimarron Conqueror on some random PvE server last night and played for about 2 hours or so.

Strange game.

1. I can't really say I'm loving the combat system, it feels very cumbersome, particularly when fighting multiple enemies. The combo system is interesting and can be pretty useful, though it's not.

2. Graphics are just ok, but I think I'll need to play with my setting a bit more. They don't even come close to LOTRO from what I've seen so far.

3. Encountered a lot of very strange collisions. Several times I was walking down what looked like a normal path, then I would either be stopped dead by an invisible object or I would automatically jump to the side to avoid it.

I'll keep trying it for the next while, but I honestly can't see myself paying to play this game, unless something changes drastically in the next little while. I think I'll try a spellcaster of some sort at some point to see if I like the gameplay any better.

Combo system can be a PITA, but once you have it figured out it isn't bad, Conq's just got a nice patch as well...
Graphics really do depend on your system , i find the graphics significantly better than lotro

Well I'm running at 1920x1200 and it's smooth, so I'm guessing i'll just need to up the textures and whatnot to make things look better.

It won't let me choose DX10 as an option, why is that?

They pulled the dx10 out of the game...i'm also playing at 1920/1200 on high graphics settings with shaders at 3.0 , most of the settings turned up, getting 50'ish fps with a 9800gx2 card running vista 64 with 8gb's ram

That sucks there is no DX10. I think I have a bunch of things at medium, so I'll try and fiddle and turn some of them up, but my rig is not quite as powerful as yours.

I feel bad for MMOs producers. In order for the game to be successful, you need to have hype building to its release and you need to secure a core group of subscribers right from the start. But when the common knowledge amongst gamers is to wait 6 months to a year before trying a new MMORPG...

Maybe they should just NOT release their game when it obviously should be in Beta still. I'm sick to god of the "release it while broken, patch it later" going on in the PC industry.

You are probably better of picking high settings, then picking shader 2 or 2x , then tweaking the rest, particals for self only, etc...

Basically Priest of Mithra, and Tempest of Set are and continue to be the most over powered classes in both PVE and PVP. Going with any other class is silly except Guardian, the Third OP class that is just slightly behind those two but actually needed against the higher end raid bosses.

Basically, with the two priests classes, not the third one called Bear Shaman because that class is not powerful at all, the player has better damage casting spells then any of the damage only casting spell classes. They have better crowd control casting spells than any other class. They have near top of the line defenses, with the Guardian class being the only class with better. They have ranged nukes that require no combos and almost always hit. On top of all that, they can heal themselves. So near best defense, best offense, ranged ability that always hits, the most crowd control abilities, AND healing. Then factor in all classes in the game have stealth for pvp..... yah playing any other class besides a ToS, PoM, or Guard is a joke.

In otherwords, the most over powered, imba, uber, super classes in the history of MMO's. The only thing they lack is 1 shot backstabs and they would be.

The best MMO I've played since quitting WoW is City of Heroes. From what I understand, it has improved dramatically since the early days. There are many aspects about it that are even better than WoW.

You forgot the insta heals they have which also do the same amount of dmg on enemy's as they heal you. You need to spec right to get these spells though...
